Agree with you sadlerdawg

Looks like this news is starting to break out - just read it on Bleacher Report - read report on here also

Sounds strange to me - Think if I/wife had been in the cab and the first verbal incident happened - I'd be telling the cab driver to stop and let me/wife out

Sounds like it was a bunch of intoxicated folks

Yes - knew they were football players but didn't know names

Hopefully the truth will come out SOON and end the speculation - unfortunately this kind of story can have negative impacts because even if it's untrue - the retractions are not as noticeable as the orginal story

UGA football player Montez Robinson jailed
3:32 pm April 4, 2010, by Tim Tucker

Georgia football player Montez Robinson is in the Clarke County jail today on a misdemeanor charge of simple battery/family violence, Clarke County Sheriff’s Sgt. Farrell Johnson said.

Johnson said Robinson turned himself in today on a warrant issued Saturday by the Clarke County Magistrate’s Court. Johnson said Robinson will remain in jail until a bond hearing, probably Monday.

Johnson said no further information about the circumstances of the charge would be available today.

According to jail records, Robinson was booked into the jail at 12:40 p.m. today.

Robinson, an outside linebacker, is a freshman from Avon, Ind.

Robinson previously was suspended from Georgia’s first two games of the 2010 season as a result of arrests last year for simple battery and criminal damage.

sadlerdawg, seem to remember Montez having a lot of problems during his youth. Second problem at UGA, don't think that he will be getting another chance. One thing to make racial comments (if so) quite another to slap a lady (if so). Personally, getting a bit tired of \"punks\" that think this world owes them something. If Montez made the remarks that were attributed to him and, slapped the husband and wife, put his \"punk\" butt in jail for longer than a day or two. I will assume that Coach Richt will be retiring his jersey. So sad sadlerdawg.

One more thing. . . .supposedly there were three others in the cab with Montez, maybe we will get the names of the others. Nip this damn thing in the bud, enough is enough. If the others were not involved, then all well and good. Look forward to Coach Richt making a meaningful statement tomorrow as he promised on Saturday. Sad, sad, sad.

Thank you Coach Richt for kicking him off the team. Montez Robinson is a thug that has been arrested 3 times in 5 months, he had it coming sooner or later. I feel no remorse for him and he got what he deserved.

Quote attributed to Coach Richt in the Athens Banner-Herald.

Richt said that he hopes Robinson will continue his eductation at another school.

Amen Coach Richt, although this young fellow appears to need help at this point. Sick puppy. On the street, dude causes nothing but trouble and is headed for hard time in the joint it appears.

Buc, I just read an UGA spokesman said Robinson's arrest was \"not related\" to the cab incident? No idea whether that's true or not, hoping there are no more arrests for that.
