I keep thinking of that south carolina game when he took that pitch 61 yrds-haven't seen that speed since #34. WL, agree on the middle stuff. But would like to see him (like the others have said) do more on the edge to put pressure on the defense.

Richt did say that he would expand his role as he gained experience -he didn't want him missing too much defensive meetings as a frosh.

Agree on the Champ thing. Hope he can get more overall touches as he gains experience-hell, even some \"wildcate\" stuff.

In a dream world I would like to see the following assuming 60 playes on offense and defense:

1. 5 rushes
2. 3 receptions
3. 30 total playes in formation on offense

4. 35 snaps on defense.

5. 4 punt returns.

Total touches: 12

Total snaps taken: 65

BS, if our new defense \"stands up\" players like Smith could become real dangerous. Has speed, year of experience, new team attitude, all +'s. ;)

Here's some info from Dasher on what Lakatos likes at the CB position:

\"It appears that new Georgia secondary coach Scott Lakatos wasn't kidding when he talked about preferring taller cornerbacks to play in the Bulldogs' new 3-4 scheme.
Valdosta High's Malcolm Mitchell certainly fits that mold.

At 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, the 2011 prospect currently has offers from Alabama and Florida, but it appears that only the Bulldogs would like him to play one of the two corner positions.

\"Florida's looking at me at free safety and Alabama's looking at me at strong safety,\" Mitchell said in a telephone interview with UGASports. \"Georgia likes me at cornerback; they like me on both sides of the ball and special teams. They said they really liked the way I played on the highlight tapes.\"

Valdosta puts out some unbelievable players BUT most don't make the grades. Hope he's the exception.

Aside from the fact that Coach Lakatos liking the taller defenders, bet he does not teach his group to watch the offensive receivers \"eyes\". Just sayin' . . . . Oklahoma will learn that defensive technique in the Spring.

Sorry folks, poor coaching has cost us more than victories. This also shall pass . . . . Coach Lakatos looks like you have some \"studs\" with attitudes to begin your journey in Athens with. Looking forward to UT.

I like it!!! Go Dawgs!! :woohoo:
