Gee, I wonder why? Charlie Strong wouldn't have anything to do with that now, would he? Those season openers we have against them in the coming years worry me.
Guess that Coach Strong had a lot to do with that. Took THOSE THAT KNOW much too long to figure out that Coach Strong belonged SOMEWHERE AS A HEAD COACH.
Actually like the fact that we have strong competition on our schedule each and every year. Who the heck are we going to duck? Pretty simple, get your game plan in order, have a coin toss and go at it.
Time for UGA to get back to the attitude of GATA. Think, unless I am missing the importance of the recent hirings, UGA is FINALLY of the mind set to GATA.
Watched the tape of the Coach Scott Lakatos interview tonight, this man is all about business. It was time for someone to step up and bring this hard ass attitude back to where Erk had it. It has been missing much too long. Know that Van Gorder put in some good time, he however left for what he thought were greener pastures.
Coach Lakatos said in the interview that he has had a relationship with Coach Grantham since 1993. That relationship, for that length of time means a lot to me. UGA was hiring coaches helter skelter for too many years to get a grip on not only the football team, each other. Personally did not like watching coaches arguing on the sideline.
Watched Saban march into Tuscaloosa, much the same way Sherman did in Atlanta. Proved a point and came away with a National Championship against the #2 team in the nation. Along the way, he kicked some gator tails. Took Saban a couple of years, but who can deny that he got the job done, and he will be back in the West Division year after year. Now UGAChemDawg, if anything scares me, it will be facing off against Bama and Saban for the SEC Title.
We did not bring folks into this operation that did not have a clue. As Coach Grantham and Coach Lakatos have said, the talent is here, not a doubt in their minds. Statements like the two of them have made bring back the days of Erk and the blood on his head, which was not show boating, it was a true GATA attitude. I believe that these two coaches will GATA.
Remember, we beat Saban and Bama on their field with a pass play that was close to a miracle. Since that time, Bama has progressed, UGA at this point (Coach Richt) has gotten the message, and I truthfully believe that in one, two, three years, UGA will never slip out of the top 5 or 10 again.
Louisville folks will witness something that they have not been privy to . . . . SEC type of defense. Their opponents will find out quickly that Coach Strong is for real. Louisville will be another team, as long as Coach Strong is there that will kick a lot of butts.
Go Dawgs!
