Predicted Order of Finish in the SEC

Schedules have UF @ Bama w/LSU visiting the Swamp the very next week...tough to win both those in consecutive weeks so I'll predict AT LEAST 1 loss for UF out of those 2 games. Sadly, the Gators have YET ANOTHER BYE the week before the WLOCP so I'll give the Gators yet another victory in Jax.--SICKENING!!!

SC is the gamechickens & always will be in my book til' they prove otherwise via winning the SEC East. Heck, they just might beat us (yall know they'll play us tough...SIGH, what's new) but I seriously doubt they lose less than 4 games since they draw Auburn, Bama, & Arky from the West.

UT plays hosts the Quack Attack from Oregon the 2nd week of the season, w/those Swamp Lizards visiting Rocky Top in week 3, gonna be tough back to back games for Dooley's Vols (That just sounds awful don't it...Dooley's Vols, what is the world coming to?) UT draws LSU & Ole Miss from the West in addition to the annual grudge match against BAMA so I'd say the Vols lose at least 4 games as well.

UK is quickly improving but not yet ready for the big-time & Vandy, well, they'll always be Vandy.

As for our beloved Dawgs, a whole lot depends on:

1) The development of the defense under the new staff & running the new scheme (I'd advise not expecting TOO much in year 1 folks)

2) The development and skill set of our young, untested QB whether it be Murray or Mettenberger (See above warning about year 1)

3) Bobo's committment to the running game & the OLs ability to create some running lanes against the better defenses in the league (I.E. not against Ga Tech)

Should all 3 above areas exceed my expectations, sure UGA could go 11-1 and make it to the GA Dome w/a little help; I still say UF beats us in Jax. coming off their BYE. Dawgs play 11 straight games before finally getting our BYE week the Sat. before Thanksgiving--UGGH! So, in all likelihood, I'll say we lose @ SC & in Jax. & @ Auburn on our 11th straight week of football and finish 9-3 w/a ticket to either a Jan. 1st bowl in middle Florida, Dallas, TX or the Peach (Chick-fil-who) Bowl.

Hope I'm wrong (especially on the WLOCP) but that's how I see it as of 1/20/10.

Goooooooose, hope you are doing well.

Goose, cmon, lose to USC? Ain't gunna happen. Lakatos already knows how to confuse Garcia in the secondary. He held him to 7 in the bowl game (remember that's UConn talent on the field). If Garcia is confused.....game over.

All is well wlayton, back home in GA working in my office, and waiting for the Dawgs to complete the turnaround of the Defensive coaching staff by adding the 3rd & final piece to the puzzle. Hope all is well w/you? Read your post about all the folks you've met from our great forum over the past few seasons, and I need to make up for our near miss this year. Cold ones on me wlayton :)

Hey, you're right though, I had forgotten that Lakatos already shut down SC & Darth Visor's offense...that bodes well for us. Anyways, I hated picking SC as a spot for us to lose but heck, you know, SC plays us tough every year, it'll be game 2 for whoever our new QB is gonna be, & game 1 is probably less prep than our scrimmages will be since we host mighty UL-Lafayette to start the year. Just have a feeling SC is due to beat us AGAIN and this year might be the one. Again, you got the key to this game already figured out, confuse Garcia, somehow get our Offense to put up at least 1 TD & a couple of FGs against SC and it will be game over.

I think SC might be this year's Ole Miss, lots of hype, very little substance.

Don't get me wrong wlayton, I agree Saban is better than Miles. I am basing it on the fact that Bama's defense loses evryone--seniors and some juniors going pro. Is the game not in LSU?

I also see the \"fat cat\" syndrome a little after listening all off season to everyone telling them how good they were.

Finally, after being made public they went 9 1/2 games without a holding call (impossible, even if you run it 60 times a game), I just have a feeling that a couple calls will finally go against them.

Besides, they haven't lost a regular season game in the SEC in two years. Know who the last team to go three straight years without doing that??? Hint: You like the team.:P

My point is, I refuse to believe they can go three straight years. So if they lose one, then they can potentially lose a tie breaker situation.

LSU will be loaded this year. Miles does have one ring by the way-I agree, he isn't great but all he has to do is beat Bama at home and beat UF the week after UF plays Bama (possible), and that would just about do it. No one else on their schedule is as talented.

Ya know BulldogShannon,

I was w/wlayton initally when I saw your 1st post--Miles aka Spanky over Saban aka Satan, NO WAY MAN! However, after a quick check of the skeds and reading your last post, I think you might be onto something here. Bama will definitely lose a ton of talent on D and will probably grow somewhat complacent as is human nature when you're at the top of the mountain so I like your pick. Bama plays @ Death Valley in early Nov. after a BYE week for both teams. Both play Florida (UF @ BAMA, LSU @ UF) but the kicker is UF hosts LSU the week after visiting Bama which favors LSU. Both the West & the East might come down to a tiebreaker this year?

Did NOT know about Bama's ridiculously suspicious streak of games w/o a single holding call, I smell some shady SEC officiating but heck, this year was full of crappy officiating in the SEC especially so I'm only slightly surprised by this stat--this needs some investigation, wonder how many of Bama's 9 games were officiated by that same crew that called (aka blown called) the UGA-LSU game and the UF-ARKY game?

Good thread here started by our original resident Gator; wonder when he & our other loyal Gator supporter will chime in w/their picks from an Orange & Blue perspective? I truly enjoy reading what different folks think about the upcoming year in the SEC cause it's never a dull conversation!
