The Future is Now!

At this point I am satisfied that all that could be done on the defensive side of the ball has been done. From a hiring standpoint, I am in total agreement with wlayton on hiring a DC that has put a lot of quality time in the League.

Comments coming from the Cowboys head coach praising Coach Grantham and his abilities only enhanced this warm, fuzzy feeling that I got the minute Coach Richt (wlayton) announced our new DC.

Noticed that Coach Grantham carries a chip on his shoulder. He was not at all happy with the last touchdown that Favre and Minnesota put up in the remaining seconds. Some will agree with that, others won't. I say if you have the ball, score. The point I am trying to make is . . . . . don't forget what others have done to you, and that appears to be Coach Grantham's stance.

Looking back, after the celebration in the end zone, Florida players were not allowed to forget what happened that day. Pay backs are hell, and maybe now we have a DC that will build that kind of fire under this UGA defense. The way that \"Erk\" used to coach the defense . . . GATA!!

Read most of the posts, allow me to say this. AM is one heck of an athlete. AM is like a sponge, his brain absorbs everything. When hurt at Plant High, he was helping the coaches manage the games while he was out.

Tough young man, came back for the State Championship Game and picked up right where he left off. He reminds me so much of a young Favre . . . tough, gunslinger, has the arm to make all of the throws, will run the ball in a Bulldog minute.

I will add this, there are many QB's that have cannons for arms, that is just one portion of the game. UGA is in for a real treat with AM, and I am in agreement with wlayton, he will spend 4 years at the helm. Many records will be broken while he is on campus.

Orson Charles has to be beside himself thinking of next season along with the rest of the receivers on campus. UGA has firepower, not only through the air, seems we have a ground game that has all the potential one could want.

Will stop with this, the truth, whole truth and nothing but the truth . . . . None of that is worth a hooters damn if you don't have the big nasties up front. Good/great OL and this team is truly dangerous, and that includes some paybacks due to anyone that wears ORANGE. :woohoo:

ecdawg there were several of us on this board that wanted AM to get some playing time last year. Speaking for myself, think that I allowed a lot of frustration to creep in.

No reason not to have a good running game, and yes I do like the fact that we have two (maybe more) RB's that are ready for SEC play.

Think most of my attention is going to be on the offensive line, critical that we can protect and block. AM can escape, just hope we don't have to do a lot of that. Do know this, we have one of the best offensive line coaches in the game, if he has the players, this could be a difficult team to stop.

If expectations are met with the incoming coaches, this could be the best staff that UGA has ever had. One mans opinion.
