I do have to say, that for one reason or another I have enjoyed watching UCONN the past few seasons. I really dont know why, but I would almost always watch thier games if they were in a different time slot than the Dawgs, and on a national channel.

Dawgdoc..great post. Yes I am a also a damn yankee moved south in 76,and stayed. lol have not enjoy the dawgs as long as you have. I do go back to the Jim Brown days at 'Cuse along with Ernie D and Larry C. There are nuggets in the NE that would fit very well into our program. So having fresh eyes on the ground will be a big plus in recruiting and molding a defense.

KT has proven he's too slow for DE and will always be a \"utility\" lineman at UGA. Gray has no experience at either safety position and wouldn't beat out Ogletree, Rambo or Banks. We certainly don't want anyone playing any position with zero experience. Gray will end up playing some as a possession receiver next season, if not mainly on special teams.
Amen guys. I like the mix of south and north in the hires. Who knows, maybe the uconn guy can get us a pipleine into the northeast.
PS: Move Samuel to weakside OLB and move Gray to SS. Move Kiante Tripp back to DE and moce Tanner Strickland (6-4, 328lbs) to 3rd string NT.
try and recruit a JUCO NT or two to spread the classes out.

WLayton, good post. My only thinking on Tripp is the fact that he is slow, and we will need more big bodies on the DL than we will need on the OL. At least the extra body over there so guys don't get worn down in practice, leading to injuries like two seasons ago.
I was not aware that he is slow, especially when the DE in a 3-4 is really not a DE. The OLB is the standup DE. The DE is a DT. He should be fine there as he is supposed to have quick feet.
if he's that slow, I sure don't want him being an OL anyway.
As far as Gray, having him as a 3rd / 4th string S wouldn't really hurt us. he's not going to really help us at WR either. I would prefer he stay at QB.
Either way, we should be much better next year with new blood in town. It was gettinmg stale!!!!:woohoo:

I'm with ya BulldogShannon. Talking about KT, to me you just described him as a \"utility lineman\", which is what he is.
