Open Conversation For The Brave

Wondering today if we (UGA) will be ready for Jacksonville and the new Florida Gators. Tim Tebow will not be there, John Brantley will take the signal calling over. Really can't make excuses for not fielding a team that can truly compete. Urban (basically) and Tim are gone.

Willie Martinez is out of the loop now, guessing that we get better on defense. Coach Richt and AD Evans have taken their time, repeat, taken their time . . . . to be sure that we have a new DC in place that will end all of the confusion that the defense has had since the WM promotion and regretfully I say, failure.

Rashad Jones is going to the pros, thanks for choosing UGA and spending your time here . . . . my apologies to you young man for having to REALLY learn how to play DB or safety in the league. Also, I don't really hold the poor game between the hedges against GT against you. Basic skills such as wrapping up versus shoulder tackling was completely by-passed during your time under WM. Wonder why Willie does not have a job at this point? Think that Jancek was hired by Coach Strong at Louisville. Must be a story there . . . . .

Hoping and thinking that Rennie will stay for another year. Also would like to see Samuel go to the defensive side of the ball. Young man has size with speed and looks for contact, has a much better chance of \"standing out\" versus trying to get into the running back mix. If Samuel wants to go to the \"League\", linebacker should be his choice. Does not have to secure the ball, can use his talents to remove the ball. My opinion.

Time for Coach Richt to move into the position that he was hired for. Know that this will piss some of you off, but it is his job to lead by example, and I think that he forgot that this is UGA and he was hired to do a job. Not one year, not five years, not ten years. We are UGA and we expect to be in what many in this nation call the \"Elite Ten\". Never, ever should UGA have a season like 2009. Saban, Meyer and others in this conference \"don't accept\" what we went through this year.

There have been some posts and articles about Coach Grantham coming to the Dawgs after the Dallas Cowboys make their run. I HOPE SO. This would be a great hire for UGA.

Know that all of you have wishes and thoughts about the upcoming season and our team. I posted this to get some thoughts. Don't wait until the season is over and cry about . . . coulda, shoulda, woulda. Speak now or forever hold your peace. There are several posters on this board that have sounded off throughout the year, let it go Brothers and Sisters, lay it out there in print where there is no back tracking. :woohoo:

Go Dawgs!

:woohoo: :woohoo:

Not to offend anyone,
But I think we have a Georgia \"teabag movement\".
There are no excuses for our performance last year or, for that matter, the last several years.

My biggest problem is the fact that Bobo is our OC. I have said this many times in a round about way. I will not beat that horse. Another year of pitiful play calling with no Willie to hide behind will take care of this problem. CMR is our ticket to the NC IF he calls the plays.

I am hoping that willie's firing wakes bobo up and he quits calling that damn 3rd and long draw play, the defense knows its coming, the announcers knows its coming, even the cheerleaders know its coming.

The only real problem I have with Bobo, is all the screens. Especially with AJ. Screens are effective when they are unexpected. Seen way to many get blown up. I also think that there should be some sort of rule that calls for AJ to push vertical at least twice a game with the ball heading in his direction. I will never forget this year in Knoxville. Not one time did AJ get a ball thrown to him past 10yds. With a player like that, coverage, or any other excuse is unexceptable. Like the Jerry Clowers says \"Give him a sporting chance\". I also look for the line to be much improved. Everyone is back, and we have 2 solid backs, everything should revolve around the running game. TE also need to keep coming on. Really like Orson and White. Really think Orson has to become a star with his speed at the TE position.

Defensive wise, I think we have to get much better on blitzing. Blitzes were mostly a non-factor last year. I would also like to see the secondary incorporated more in the blitzing scheme. One way to handle the boot, is to bring a corner off the edge in the QB's face as he is rolling out. I can remember Thomas Davis blitzing from the safety position, and making huge plays. Would like to see that again.

The list could go on but these are areas I would like to see changed. Anyways, like the rest of us, I will continue to defend my Dawgs even though i didn't really have a leg to stand on this year.

Oh yeah, I hope we beat UT by 50. If I have to come into my office and see or hear one more thing about the Lame tradition of beating UGA I am going to vomit.

GO DAWGS

Buc, I agree that it is time for Coach Richt to lead this team and coaches by example. No more of this background CEO, Bobby Bowden crap. Get your hands dirty, Coach Richt. Lead these guys, and leave no question as to where the credit or the blame lays.
I hope the offense gets back to a much more run-oriented attack. I hate when Coach Richt praises the balance of the play calling...50-50 run/pass. IMO, and in my perfect world, that ratio would be about 70-30, if not 75-25. Even with an excellent passer, throwing too much is dangerous, especially when it's predictable.
Can't say a whole lot about the D until I know who's going to be in place as DC and coaches. Just hope to get back to a much more aggressive, pin your ears back style. Win the battle in the trenches and the rest will sort itself out.
Hope for a real special teams coach that understands more often than not, putting a kickoff as deep as Walsh can kick it is going to be a good thing if your coverage team will cover. Hate the short angled crap.
And finally, I hope our recruiting class doesn't take a hit waiting on a DC to be named. I hope if Coach Richt has his man as has been suggested, he's sure the name will outweigh the delay of naming him. If he doesn't have his man, HURRY THE HELL UP!!!!!

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
