Meyer leaving Florida

Here is my take on it.

I honestly thought he was going to go pro. He has a habit of leaving when the getting is good. With all the jobs coming open in the NFL, I bet he thought or might have even been approached by one of the pro teams. He came up with some sort of lame excuse as to why he could no longer coach at Florida. Gaining sympathy for himself along the way. Something went wrong with the pro job. Now, he wants his job back. As to not look like a total donkey's rearend, he's just taking leave of absence. BS! I wouldn't be suprised if it comes out in the wash that this guy was really trying for that pro job. This guy is the slime of the earth.

By the way. Did anyone hear about him going to the hospital. It's been reported since the news that he was quiting for \"Health Reasons\". Someone in his position does not go to the hospital with out the whole sporting world know about it. I smell a rat.....a swamp rat.

flyindawg you have hit the nail on the head. If UM really has medical issues then I wish him well and hope that he has a speedy recovery. Something really smells fishy about this whole story though. I don't know about everyone else, but my Gator fans friends are crying the blues. I know that there are some good logical Gator fans, but most of the ones I know have been downright obnoxious over the last 3 years. I will take great pleasure in watching the evil empire fall. I can't wait to see how this all plays out. I actually feel a little sorry for the Gator fans. I really would like to give UM the benefit of doubt, but I personally think he has officially given UF the root.

Still think Whittingham may be the guy. He is UM's clone and UF's Pres., BM is from Utah as well. We'll see.

Alot to digest in the last 2 days. I know I probably have my blue and orange blinders on, but I truly believe he is in bad health. ESPN reported that he went to the hospital after the SECCG, so its not unrealistic. I thought he was going to go pro myself this year, he has been to the pinnacle at this level and I figured he would try his hand with the paid players. I was at peace with that. I heard talk from other alumni, that Mullen may be the candidate, which I couldnt be happier about. The guy is an offensive genius, and a very likeable person. I dont think next year will be as bad as some have painted the picture. Next years defense will not be as good next year, but I dont believe they will have to win games like they did this year. The offense will put up big numbers, Brantley isnt the leader that TT was, but he will be twice the true QB. It will be more like the Leak offense or the Utah Alex Smith offense. It will be interesting to see how it plays out, but I as one Gator am not losing any sleep over it, UF is willing to spend the money to get top tier coaches in place, and for that I am thankful.

I still want to know why florida fans think they will be fine next year, the coach is flip flopping, they are losing a lot on defense, they are losing their leading rusher with no clear cut replacement, and their new QB is still unproven.

Just remember, UGA was in that situation this year and we lost less, but we did still have willie, so that was a huge crutch.

My take is, This is a cop out on urbans part, he rode Tebow and strong as long as he could, now that they are gone he dosent want to deal with the decline that is about to happen and take the blame for it, so he blames it on his health his family and comes back when the coast is clear and if the gators stink he blames it on his leave or who ever steps in now, just to save his reputation, Its just a big Cop out is all!!! Think about it, if tebow was coming back and strong, do you really think he would be taking a leave LOL of course not!!!!
