Heard another Rumor

Just heard on the local radio sports talk show that UGA had offered Kirby Smart and contract worth 1 million. Heard, that bama is going to make a counter-offer?

That is interesting. Read somewhere today that the folks in Athens had been warned not to talk about the DC position and possible deals. Guess it is a bit like the White House, leaks are sure to happen.

Roaming around on the internet, looking for some positive things concerning UGA Football and came up with this . . . . UGA is not ranked in the top 25 in the country on any poll that I looked at. . . . . those included AP, Harris, BCS and Coaches. Thought about that for a minute and it really got to me . . . again.

There is no way that we should be in this situation . . . . Top players, excellent facilities, tradition. Might be that we will need Muschamp and Smart to get this turned around. I don't like where UGA has landed in the last few years. Maybe the players have been running the team, we will see come 2010.

Personally will be surprised if either Muschamp or Smart find their way back to Athens. Really makes no sense to me. Even though Texas signed coach to a long term deal, there seems to be a lot of togetherness between Brown and Muschamp. Also dollars that I don't think Evans or UGA are willing to put out there. Same goes for Smart, if Saban likes what he has, money won't be a problem to the Alabama administration.

You know Buc, even though we aren't in the top 25, I believe there are at least 10 teams in the top 25 we could beat.

Also heard that UT gave Muschamp an automatic rolling 12 month contract as long as MB is there. Usually assistants have to renew every year.

Buc, I am located in the worst possible place to be right now. Knoxville. Everyday co-workers and friends remind me what happened on that cloudy October day. Just waiting to see what I predicted a couple of months ago. The lame train getting put on probation.

Don't look much in to anything that I hear except for from Jimmy Hines. He reported that UGA was going to offer Smart a contract expected to be around 1 million. That is why I ask. Know that you and wlayton have some inside sources.

I think Smart will come to UGA, Why not once he wins the NC at ala, there is nothing else to do there, plus he is a dawg, And I think you are right Wlayton if he comes here and turns UGA D around it makes him look even better. We have got to get him.

I think there are plenty of guys out there if we don't get Smart or Muschamp. Bumpas or Mark Stoops may be good fits as well. Kind of like the Stoops idea. He coached up a top 25 defense this season with mostly 3 star recruits plus has experience against the spread.

At this point I just don't know what may happen. At the end of the day it's going to come down to money. IMHO .
