Blown Away . . . . Again

Nine years is an eternity as a head coach in today's SEC.
The intensity is not there anymore.
Just my stupid opinion.

Our problems started to show during the 2005 season. We got run on pretty bad but had the talent to cover it up.

The Sugar bowl against WVU showed the lack of preparation and focus by the defense more clearly.

It went down hill from the. 2005 was the beginning of the end.

Aside from a brief period after the end zone stomp UGA has not played disciplined, focused football in years.

I made almost this exact statement to someone yesterday, when he asked me why I wanted williemo gone.

The beginning of the end was all the dropped passes in 2006 that never got better. We went a whole season
without any adjustments in play calling or coaching to correct the problem.

The end of the end was the Bama game last year. We had exactly the right tools to destroy Bama but never used them. The Bama linebackers could not cover short passes. We had Stafford, Moreno, and Greene. So we ran right at them trying to establish the play-action pass ... which of course was always a deep ball against the other strength of their defense. What we needed to do was play dink&dunk passign game to keep our defense off the field.

That was it. I knew by halftime of the Bama game that there was no hope of our coaching ever getting any better. They had the perfect tools but didn't know what to do with them.
