Success . . . You Decide

Seems to be two sides on either getting rid of or retaining WM. One side seems to think that releasing WM is going to have serious effects on the defensive side of the ball. Many believe that we will have some set backs this year especially with some of the recruits that are watching the pro and con statements being made on the blogs and in the print media.

Nickell Robey of Frostproof High School, an early UGA commit has reopened recruiting to more than UGA. First one in, Monte Kiffin of Tennessee. Surprise, don't think so, as I have said before, Monte is respected like few others in the Central Florida area. Also to be noted is that it was Monte and not Lane that hit the Central Florida stage. Papa Kiffin is going to work hard in the State of Florida and he will most assuredly take many top defensive athletes back to UT. Super Bowl ring, basically the father of the Tampa Two, Monte will do his job.

To counter this, Coach Richt, Bryan McClendon and WM are going to meet with Nickell Robey on Friday. Thought about that for most of the day and this is what I came up with. If Coach Richt and WM are coming together to try and keep this young man on the Red and Black ledger, it makes me believe that WM will be back again next year. If not, why would the two be coming together, plus McClendon to try and keep this recruit? Check out the link at the bottom of this post.

There have been a couple of posts on this board, and many on other boards that fear losing top notch athletes if the fans, you and I, some of us, continue to question the UGA defense and the way our athletes are coached.

At some point a bold statement needs to be made, and I think that time is now. Too many 30 and 40 point games in the recent past given up by a once proud defense. Saban comes in and has Alabama 1st in one poll and 2nd in another. That was nothing more than a coaching change, with the administration willing to spend some money. Same can be said for Tennessee, coaching change with the admin willing to pay the price. While UT has not reached the heights that Alabama has, just how long do we think it will take. . . . .We or course know that the coaching change at UF turned out to be very successful.

There is a war going on in the SEC and it looks like the schools that are truly committed are showing their colors. Florida is there. Alabama is there. UT is in the game.

Buc, KIffen cannot win with Tn. recruits, not that many good H.S. prospects.
I think Tn. will be worse next year than this. They lose a lot of experience.
Will Vol fans give him a window to turn it around? Until his recruits pan out?
They still have Bama, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Kentucky left this year. May lose 3 out of those 4 games. It makes our loss to them even more painful.
After a period of reflection, I think the LSU loss affected our performance in that game. The coaches did not help. It's not like we did not know what they were going to do.
Look for Saban to be all over that roll out. Should be an interesting game, two great defensive minds. I see Alabama showing how tough they are up front.
Look for the Tide to roll.

If we keep WM then we will never be above a 2 loss team, we will never get to a NC game and most likely never get to another SEC championship game with him.

He needs to be gone, period. Personally we should get a smash mouth guy like Kirby Smart in here at any cost, if not him then the guy from TCU is a distant second on the list.

Face it every failure in the past few years has been because willie had not gotten the players prepared for a game, he is horrible and with the talent level they have at UGA they should have had at least one NC in the past 5 years.

Smart coached under Richt before. The word is they don't get along.

Noticed that Lane Kiffin asked Alabama about wearing the orange uniforms. As I understand it, Saban said no to that. That will probably be a pre-game speech to the UT team that Kiffin will use to try and make up for the lack of talent on the field. Folks in Alabama have not and will not forget for many years to come the back door slaps by UT at Alabama by Phat Phil and some others.

My biggest concern right now is CMR and WM meeting with the defensive back in Frostproof together. Tells me that WM will be around next year. Does Coach Richt really believe that he has a defensive coordinator that can put this defense over the top? If Coach Richt thinks that is the case, I and others have serious concerns about our program.

ugaa, as far back as I can remember you have held true to your position on the defensive side of the ball. You, sadlerdawg and wlayton have not waivered.

I don't believe that CMR will make any changes. We will be stuck with the same coaching staff going into next season. If after another bad season in 2010, then he will be forced to make changes. CMR is the type man that wants to give one more chance. You can rest assured that nothing will change and we will be the same or worse next year.

With Ark coming on, and USC getting better than us (who would ever thought that), I just don't see any better times for UGA unless coaching changes are made. Look at what Spurrior has done when he hired all new coaches. Look at Fla, Alb, LSU, Auburn, even Tenn will be a force again. This just makes me sick that CMR is so loyal that he cares nothing about the fans of the program going beyond the average 10 wins. He make excuse after excuse and I for one want a championship SEC and National. We are top 10 in recruting year after year but avg result which are getting less and less each year.
