Thought I would ask this question and see what the results show on this board.

If you had the authority to change ONE THING with our football team, what would it be?

This was a tough one for me as I felt there were several options.

I go first.

Coach Mark Richt return to his title of HEAD COACH. Make the difficult decisions that are facing him and the UGA team.

I would call ONE meeting with the defensive staff except Garner, he wouldn't attend. Then in that ONE meeting, I would fire everyone in that ONE room.

Buc, here's my thought process (I know you didn't want a complete post but...)

I would fire every member of the defensive staff except for Garner. I think that Jancek is particularly bad. I would conduct a thorough analysis of potential defensive coordinators, and hire the best one that I could get to take the job. AND I would speak to Damon about increasing the pay for the assistant coaches. We are below market right now, and if we’re going to hire the best, we need to be one of the best in terms of pay as well. The athletic budget can handle it. Tennessee is on the path to becoming a force again. This is not because of Lane Kiffen, but rather because of the people that Lane Kiffen has been able to hire because of the money the athletic department agreed to spend for assistant coaches.

Hire a brilliant DC.
Make CMR go back to play calling.
Expect results with the promise of heads rolling.
All done yesterday.
Also, play the kids who will win. Loyalty be damned.

wlayton the last piece of your post was my first thought on the one thing buc asks about. The pay of our coaches from CMR down is what I would change. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. CWM and others(Garner excluded for recruiting purposes) would not be worth what we would be paying our coaches and would have to go. Lucrative pay would draw superior coaching talent.

To be the best you have to acquire and pay the best.
