No doubt Goose and wlayton. This forum has by far one of the best collections of TRUE fans. It is very apparent in the time and sentiments expressed in posts here like the ones by Limey, dapolla, goose and others on a regualr basis. No \"fair weather fans\" here and in my experiences of living in various parts of the SE Region the Bulldog nation probably has the least amount of them.
MM and the rest of our beloved Dawgs have little to worry about as far as the fan base goes. JC shows he truly cares for everything Red and Black with his concerns, but in all honesty, the pressure and angst being felt from the top down on this team can be a good thing. Individuals and teams often perform better and find ways to dig deep and improve performance with a little added pressure and the heat turned up. Whether or not our team does this or not will truly tell us what they are made of.
It is easy to talk about stepping up, playing hard and executing win you are winning. When losing and facing antimosity is when you really find out what a team and even individuals are made of. With that said I see the course this season is taking as an opportunity. An opportunity to see what our Head coach and this staff are really about. This is the first time CMR can really feel his seat getting warm. How he will respond and overcome this will really tell us what knd of leader we have and if he is the one to get this program to the pinnacle of CFB.
Coach, you have one of the most talented teams in the SEC and the best damn fan base any coach could ask for. It's time for you to dig deep, look in the mirror and make the decision on whether or not you and your staff you are so loyal to can pull it together and make the start to this season the exception and not the rule.
As far as what we can do...
We need to continue to conduct ourselves as fans with the pride, passion and class that makes UGA great. I said in another post after the LSU loss that I will be in the stands for the UT game and Vandy game with my red and black on and my head held high. I will continue to bark, cheer and show my pride as a UGA alumn should. I will express confidence in every player that passes me on their way to the field during a dawg walk always keeping in mind that there is nothing finer in the land than what I am... A Georgia Bulldog fan!
