What can WE do Dawg fans

What can WE do Dawg fans was created by GooseDawg78
Looking back at Mikey Moore's tweet again, he stated, \"All I can say 2 the dawgnation is don't turn your backs on us. That's it. We need u to support us and times like this is when we need u the most.\"

First of all, ain't no REAL Dawg fans gonna quit on the team right NOW, MM need not worry about that. There are simply too many good Dawg fans for Jax. not to be 1/2 Red & Black come Oct. 31 or for Sanford not to have 92k strong and barking for homecoming on Nov. 7. You can count on that!

To me, that's one of the great things about being a Georgia Bulldog, thankfully, Dawg Nation isn't overly infested with bandwagon fans. You know, the type of fans that had to hide their LSU sweatshirt in the closet and bust out that new Florida Gators hoodie at the end of Sat. night. Almost every single true UGA fan has withstood some tough times before and will remain passionate as ever right on through even the worst of the team's struggles. Dawg Nation may not have the most fans, we may not have the loudest fans, we may not have the smartest fans, heck, we may not even have the most rabid fans, but one thing I like to think is that we have some of the LOYALIST fans and it's times like these when the team isn't shining brightly that we as fans truly have the chance to prove our worth. Being an ethusiastic fan is easy when your team is winning, it's in defeat that the heart of a fan is truly tested.

That's my 2 cents but there are lots of folks on here a whole lot smarter than me; so here are some questions for my fellow Dawg fans:

What do you think we as fans should do to show support for our team in times like now when we are all OBVIOUSLY displeased with the team's performance? How do we make a positive contribution to the team? What can we do that will be appreciated by the players?

These are tough questions for me; I dunno what to do other than just keep on wearing my Red & Black and cheer like heck for our boys every Saturday...anybody here got any thoughts or insight?

Joe Cox said this,

\"It's tough hearing about your coaches being on hot seats and all that stuff, because you know they're not playing the game. That's probably one of the worst feelings, just listening to people say how bad the coaches are doing when you know it's on you.\"

So, the players hear the grumbling from the fanbase and they (well, at least JC) take it upon themselves to carry the burden of responsibility for the coaches criticism due to their own performance as a player. I appreciate and respect JC for trying to shoulder the blame but it really can't be as simple as JC made it can it?

Did UT beat UGA 45-19 simply because our players screwed up all of our coaches wonderful plays? Was it partly players fault and partly coaches fault? How much, 50/50? Was it that Tennessee had superior players or their players simply played better? Was it that Tennessee had superior coaches or their coaches simply coached better? Was it just that the Vols wanted it more? Again, I don't have the answers (wish I did) but I doubt it's a one part solution, likely a combination of several factors.

As a fan, I always struggle to locate the thin line between a healthy passion and an unhealthy obsession for my Dawgs. The passion in me just wants to see the Dawgs play hard for 60 minutes, to play sound fundamentals, and if they can't win, to lose with dignity and their heads held high. The obession in me wants to see players punished for their on field mistakes, to have coaches immediately replaced for bad playcalling, and to witness nothing less than total beatdowns for the unfortuate gridiron victims who dare took the field against the Red & Black. I love being a Dawg fan, wouldn't change it for the world, but in a strange sort of way since being a Dawg fan means casting your hopes and faith 100% in with the team, it makes you want to do something, anything you can do w/in your power to help the team, YOUR TEAM when they are down.

My team is down therefore I am down...What can I do?

Hopefully both the players and the coaches can show some resolve, rise up off the deck and get back to playing Georgia football (you know, football with some passion and some emotion) against Vandy. Then, they'll have two weeks to devise the Halloween surprise of a lifetime for those swamp dwellers--Don't know if they will succeed, but as for us Dawg fans, they can count on us, we'll ALWAYS be here!

Goose, I agree with ya! Any TRUE dawg fan WILL NOT turn thier back on our beloved DAWGS! I was in Chattanooga this past weekend with my wife and even after we got spanked I changed out of my usual game day t-shirt into a UGA polo to go out for the evening. Believe me, I got PLENTY of comments about it and some even commended me on wearing it. Our players need to know that we as fans stand behind them 100%. I bleed RED and BLACK and love my dawgs WIN or LOSE! GO DAWGS!!

JC just needs to be quiet and play ball. Every recruit in the south knows what we expect out of our teams. With all that said I do not dislike JC. He seems to be an outstanding young man. He is not an outstanding QB, but that is alright. UGA is not having the year that any of us want. We will be back. I find it hard to believe that any fan would turn their back on this team. I don't think the money that I have spent on tickets is a waste. A sub par football season is tons better than a fall without football. I will never turn my back on the RED AND BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what Mike sees. Dawg fans will show up 92k strong regardless of the last performance. If we're on tv, another million or so will be tuned in; if not, they'll be following the Gametracks on the net. I don't think anyone has turned their backs on the Dawgs. Quite the contrary. We've challenged them with our displeasure. Even Mike Moore should know that a p.o.'d fan is essentially imploring them to play up to their talent level. It's the price they pay for playing at this level, at this school. High as heck expectations. Don't mistake our dissention for disloyalty. We're loud and angry because we love our Dawgs and know they're better than the first six games have shown them to be. The fans will step up and fill Sanford, and Jax. Time for the team to step up and play some damned football. GO DAWGS.

No matter what, I'll always love my DAWGS! I have nothing but respect for all the players. My problem is I don't think the coaching staff has these guys ready to play at the level they need to be at. Either that, or we don't have the talent we need. And if that is the case, that too is the fault of the coaching staff. There is NO way we can compete with either FL or AL if this trend continues. We are in danger of becoming a second, or third, tier team.........And just so you know, even if we don't win another game this year, I will still be a DAWG and will still wear my Bulldog clothes with pride. I'm sorry if some fans are willing to settle for less than the best! I'm Not!
