why it is that we fans, mere spectators of a collegiate sport, often lean moreso to the negatives of our program, rather than celebrate the positives?
Because like LimeyDawg said in his post a few weeks ago, fan is short for fanatics and fanatics are overzealous by nature and often times unrealistic. Fans are like spoiled brats, no matter how much we get, we just can't be satisfied.

I've still got confidence in CMR and trust that he will make the proper and necessary decisions, when the time is right...Entering the meat of your SEC schedule doesn't qualify in the timing category, IMVHO.
Me too and I'm pretty sure most everybody on this forum does as well....Show of hands anyone?
Also agree w/you about the timing NOT being right.

I'm not going to fill a public forum with alot of bile and ill will for all to see. We don't know who these \"guests\" are, but they often out number the members 2:1....Think about that!...Recruits do their homework, I know I would, if I was on the cusp of making a life altering decision.
If any offensive recruits are reading this, Come on and join the scoring machine that CMR is putting together Btw. the Hedges.
If any defensive recruits are reading this, Come on and help bring back the glory days of the Junkyard Dawgs. Come on and enjoy watching the scoring machine light up opposing defenses while you are sipping POWERade on the sidelines and don't forget to check out the number of current NFL players that played defense for the Red & Black.

It's that \"protect the family\", southern thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger
Understand your point here NCdawg and a public forum ain't the place to handle family affairs but I know from my own personal experiences that the dearest people in my life, my parents, my sister, my relatives and my TRUE friends will call me out whenever I'm SCREWING UP and IMHO that's exactly what people that care about each other should do. The truth hurts sometimes but w/o criticism we cannot hope to improve.

I completely understand where you are coming from. However our history and the reality of 120 Division I teams, all vying for the same shot at a crystal ball,...well, the odds aren't particularly good. If you set the bar at concensus NC, the separation between our last two was 38 years, with many near misses in between...Including two for CMR!
Odds are against us for sure and if it takes a MNC to keep the passion running strong in Bulldog Nation then I’d be extremely disappointed in our fanbase. SEC Titles and beating our rivals will keep me happy w/the Dawgs forever. A NC is just icing on the cake but I sure do LIKE icing!

Sometimes, lady luck smiles on us and what could have been a near miss, turns out to be a moment destined for folklore....We are due....
We sure are due and I truly believe that at sometime during the reign of CMR ol’ lady luck will find her way back to Athens!
In summary excellent postS NCdawg; I respect your wisdom being my elder. Glad you made the point that no matter how fired up we get about the Dawgs, a football GAME pales in comparison to the unemployment rate, the war in the Middle East, the recent floods in Atlanta, and the ever increasing divorce rate.
Thanks for the perspective!
