A quote from Joe Cox:
“Half the people who have stuff to say after games have never played a down of football before in their entire life. I wouldn’t criticize somebody for something I’ve never played before or never done before, but some people feel it’s their place to say how somebody is doing when they’ve never done it before. That’s just something I’ve never understood. Stuff like that doesn’t bother me. You’ve got to look at the source, and if it’s somebody who’s never played football, I could care less what you say.”
This ain't good.
I'll point to the same article you read that in, DawgFanInTn, to tell you that I have a lot of confidence in our Dawgs because of this. In the same article (from the
Red and Black, yes?) the reporter quotes A.J. Green as saying, \"After the game, Joe was the only one in the locker room talking.\" \"We all should have taken heat for the loss,\" said linebacker Rennie Curran. \"We all realized that there was more that each of us could have done, you know, to make sure the team was successful.\"
The rest of the team is rallying around Joe. That's a good thing, right? A unified team?
Not only that, but one of the things everyone complained about last year was the preseason #1 ranking and the perceived complacency that our boys showed, thinking that the national title was guaranteed to them. All of a sudden Joe Cox shows some \"us against the world\" underdawg mentality and you rag on him for that? Which is it? How should he behave?
When Matthew Stafford lost to Kentucky in 2006, I gave him a pass because he was a freshman. When he lost to SCarolina in 2007, I was calling for his head. I'm giving Joe a chance. He's still 1-1 as a Georgia quarterback.
