Oh I agree. If we can hold the Oklahoma State offense to those numbers and still lose, we're in trouble.
Florida and Georgia Tech are definite losses.
I'm hesitant to call the season a total bust though, simply because Georgia has traditionally been slow out the gate, and Oklahoma State is a legit national title contender this year. They may end up running the Big 12.
Well, I'd have to say I pretty much agree with what you're saying Chem. I'm not ready to sign the death warrant on this team after an opening loss in hostile territory to a national contender team with a team that is moving young players into profile positions.
But Georgia showed some big problems as outlined in the other post today. And I said it last year and I'll say it again this year: I see Mark Richt going down the same road with Willie Martinez that Bobby Bowden did with Jeff Bowden; he's going to force the hand of the AD or the President of the University to act and make a change. If that happens, things will never be the same. As nice of a guy as CMR is, Georgia is bigger than one person, including CMR. He's ultimately building a house of cards out of his career at Georgia if what we see continues.
I also think 5 losses may be overstating matters a bit, but only time will tell.
Over 5 losses is pushing it. We lost to an outside national title contender in their house in the first game we've opened against a top 10 opponent outside the south since my dad was a little kid, while trying to break in a new starter. I think we'll go 10-3 or 9-4.
They are no where near a national title contender
The silver lining is that maybe another loss like this will convince richt that he needs to find new offensive and defensive coordinators.
