I agree with what your saying to a point and apparently so do most of the dawg fans on here. Why is then they can't agree with comment (2a)? I understand that our team has nothing to do w/ Stafford and that he has no bearing on our game. But, it also goes the same way as Ole Miss/TT game, the quality of our non-conference schedule in 2008, none of them have any bearing on our game this Saturday either.
Dawg fans criticized my comments about Dez Bryant saying that he isn't better and then some wants stats.....so I give them stats. Once again, the stats prove that Dez is a better receiver than Green.

hefley, you were the first person to bring up last year's stats on this forum. I merely called you out on it. If last year has no bearing on this year's game, then nobody should be talking ANY smack, because none of us has seen down one of our team against ANY other team, let alone each other. But all logic and no smack talk makes hefley a dull boy...
I also REALLY disagree with you that your non-conference schedule has nothing to do with stats you quote to prove that OSU is better than Georgia. If Georgia had played Iowa State, Baylor, Washington, Troy and Missouri State last year, I'm pretty sure we would have racked up more yards and points than we did against...dare I say it?...tough SEC defenses.
Dawg fans criticized my comments about Dez Bryant saying that he isn't better and then some wants stats.....so I give them stats. Once again, the stats prove that Dez is a better receiver than Green.
There you are with last year's stats again. Last year's stats prove nothing about this year's team, except that your returning starters failed to defeat anyone of Georgia's caliber last year while racking up half your offense against terrible teams. As you tried to say earlier, I'll say unto you: make up your mind. If last year's stats apply to this year, then we'll use them. If they don't, then we won't. The only thing that's for certain is that Matthew Stafford isn't the starting quarterback for Georgia this year any more than Bobby Reid is your starter this year. That's why nobody is bringing up Herschel Walker vs. Barry Sanders comparisons: they're not relevant.
Also, not one person on this forum said that A.J. Green was a better receiver than Dez Bryant. Every college expert in the country says that Dez Bryant is the best receiver in FBS football. All anyone said was that we have a pretty good receiver in A.J. Green, and you WILL have to double-cover him. If you don't, he will burn you, just as Bryant will burn us if we ignore him. Don't come off as a victim of rabid, irrational fans when you're saying just as irrational things about your own defense.
So, in closing:
1) Last year's stats don't prove that OSU is better than Georgia, because OSU didn't play Georgia last year.
2) OSU beat one team worth a damn last year. That's a fact. Georgia didn't really beat anyone worth a damn last year, either. That's also a fact. Which leaves us with nothing at all to prove that either team is better at all than the other, except the last time they met. We know how that turned out.
3) Without last year's stats, we have LITERALLY nothing to talk about, which is boring. But don't get upset when holes are poked in your statistical arguments. I haven't done that, and neither has anyone else on this board. I'm not a fan of anyone on EITHER side telling anyone to go away because that person is annoying. Nor am I fan of challenging people to fights. But don't just say \"Nuh-uh!\" like a child when I prove you wrong on stats, or make a logical argument that asserts that perhaps last year's Cowpoke stats were a bit inflated by the fact that you were playing high school teams. When you prove me wrong on stats -- as you have done once so far -- I will, as I have done thus far, be gracious and even grateful. I happen to like being proven wrong; it means I've learned something.
4) Go Dawgs.

dapolla, I enjoy smack talk and bantering as much as anybody but if all he does is repeat himself and has no new basis for argument, it becomes annoying and gets old. Just like his one of his last posts doing the Arkansas comparison.....AGAIN.
