What I'm hoping is that RS can learn from what Knowshon did and avoid Danny Ware's mistakes. Danny was a big, strong, fast back, but he was a little too in love with his own feet and tended to dance a little bit too much before making a decision. I'm not saying Samuel's like this; I'm high on Samuel and have been since the 2008 G-Day game. What I'm saying is that one of the major differences between Knowshon's game and Danny Ware's game was that Knowshon picked a direction and ran in it. Danny danced around looking for the perfect angle, not realizing that the pocket was collapsing on him. Hopefully Richard will improvise as he's running, rather than overthinking before he takes off. That's the key.

That is good \"stuff\" dapolla. Reminds me of Terrell Davis. Left UGA, went to work for the Denver Broncos and history was made. He hit the hole without the \"wiggle\" and he made all of us at \"Tailback University\" proud. He of course was helped immensely by the blocking schemes at Denver. Chop blocks bother me, but that is the nature of the beast these days.

sadlerdawg, I truly believe that they are going to perform this year. Tough schedule, we do our thing and \"tough schedule\" just makes our case. . . . . 6'2\"/225 running downhill . . . WOW!

There goes Samuel ! There goes Samuel ! OOps I'm having Flashbacks again :P

Almost time to break out the Crown Royal and Lewis Grizzard books :P

Is it me, or does anyone else get the feeling that CMR is throwing a trap
to OK ST about our Punt/Kick coverage. I suspect he knows something about
this group that remains to be seen. I sure hope so. That could be his ace
up the sleeve. Hopefully Ben Jones will be 100 % by kickoff or before.

I'm not as concerned about CK's injury due the depth at that position.

Hopefully Sept. 5th 2009 will create some Great UGA FlashBacks as well:)

Buc, I am also tied up in knots. I agree with wlayton, this first game is huge.
I'm a little concerned about preseason injuries, i.e. safeties and center.
I see Cox and Gray kind of like Greene and Shockley, they complement each other.
If there was ever a year for some relief from being a small businessman, this is the year. Cannot wait until Sept. 5.

averagedawg, both Evans and Jones will be back at safety for the OSU game even though hamstring problems can linger and take time. They were rested pretty well as soon as their problems started. Believe Jones will be fine for the game as well (not quite as sure about him)......assuming they don't tweak their minor injuries.

dapolla.....don't believe you need to worry about Samuels dancing in the hole. He's definitely a straight ahead, downhill back that is hitting the hole at full speed. I don't believe that dancing EVER enters this kids mind (doesn't have any dance steps)....he just wants to punish whatever is in front of him. I'm more worried about him hitting the line so hard and quick that he might actually miss the hole (may need a little patience, he gets going so hard that he stumbles sometimes). He won't be another D Ware.

Another article by Chris Low, ranking the defenses in the SEC.

5. Georgia: The Bulldogs have the best tandem of tackles in the league in Jeff Owens, who's back from a season-ending knee injury a year ago, and Geno Atkins. The problem is finding someone to get to the quarterback off the edge. There's not a proven pass-rusher on the team.

Pass rushing DE's popping up again. This is the way that many folks look at our Dawgs. Know that wlayton and others have been on board with needing that outside rush. I really hope with the increased pressure from the inside that it will allow more pressure from the outside. Not sure what it is, but think the Dawgs on defense may truly be taking this as personal. If the defense stands up, this team might not have to \"wait until next year\".

When I think about the season ahead; it's like I have drank about 5 redbulls!!:woohoo:

I just hope that WM has learned a lesson from last year and is rethinking about having the LB's cover a WR. CMR is not letting the cat out of the bag with this team until Sept. 5th. This 2009 squad is gonna open some eyes!! I just wished we played AlaDamnBama this year!!! Our team grew up over the off season and has really come together. I dont think we had the closeness as a team as we should have. And that, with the exception of so many injuries played a huge part in our record last year. Is it Sept. yet?!
