I'll put it to you this way: Jay Cutler played four years at Vandy. In all that time, Vandy never beat a ranked opponent, never went to a bowl game. The only thing he had to hang his hat on was a victory over Tennessee in 2005.

Chris Nickson and MacKenzie Adams, however, did the following:

1) Beat Georgia
2) Beat Auburn
3) Beat SCarolina and Steve Spurrier, TWICE!
4) Boasted a 16-20 record over three years.
5) Took Vanderbilt to its first bowl game since 1984.
6) Defeated ACC Atlantic Division champion Boston College in that bowl to post Vandy's first winning season in...I dunno...fifty, sixty years?

Jay Cutler beat Tennessee.

Anyway, sit on that for a while as you're flying from Mile-High to the Windy City, Jay-Jay.

Interesting post GaBoi. Was on the Detroit message board few minutes ago. Seems as if many folks are against taking Matt with the first pick. Know that it is early, (speculation here) would not be surprised to see Detroit move away from Stafford. I am also the guy that did not see Cutler going to Chicago. Until college football gets back into full swing, I enjoy messing with the pro game.

You know Buc, I have always believed you start building a team around 4 players (especially in the NFL).

A franchise QB, a great LT (on OL), a great rush DE and a \"shutdown corner\". With that being said, I feel the FIRST one you need is the franchise QB.....therefore believe MS is headed to Detroit, they can'r afford to NOT take him. Just my opinion though.:silly:

Don't know what it is wlayton, but think that Matt is going to be a different QB in the pros versus the way he played in college. I truly believe that he had set his \"game plan\" in his mind before going to UGA. He truly wants to be a NFL QB, and I for one think that he is going to be more than good, maybe great. Carry on the tradition of one Bobby Lane, another Texas dude.
