Collegiate football personal has changed drastically in the past 9 to 10 years. Linemen, both O & D, didn't weigh 300 plus pounds 9 to 10 tears ago. Look at Erk's defence, most weighed somewhere from 250 tp 270lbs. Now these mommoths go 320 to 350lbs. Big guts hanging over their game pants means big injuries in practice and game day. Players are just too damm big today! Our limemen used to be quick off the ball and had great lateral speed, no more I'am sorry to say. Tuesday practice was called \"Bloody Tuesday\" in Dooley's time. Now if we have full contact practice someone gets hurt and it usually isn't a minor problem, a blown knee or broken bone. Guess you have to roll with the flow and take your lumps as they occur. Keep the faith.
As always, GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
