Another one under the radar?

This is a great move by CMR. Blair Walsh claims last year was a learning process on keeping his leg fresh. A little competition is always good. If his kickoffs don't improve, his leg will be well rested by the end of the year. I still think he will be a very good placekicker for field goals. You would think they could find SOMEBODY (soccer team etc) that could kick the ball in the endzone consistently. They wouldn't have to be EXTREMELY accurate but could kick it a mile. SURELY you can find someone out there that can do that !??! Then you wouldn't have to worry about our lousy kick-off coverage.

wlayton with the field position that we gave up last year, think two things come into play that really hurt us. Poor kickoffs and penalties. Read somewhere that we gave up an average of over 70 yards a game in penalties. Know this is not breaking news, just made me think about the combination of the two. Won't work, proven in the Trade School game.

You are so right Buc but it just has ALWAYS irritated me how LOUSY we are at covering kick-offs. It seems like the average starting point for our opponents is their 40. Certainly doesn't help our D at all. You can open the offense up much more from the 40 than the 20, which also puts our D in a much more difficult position to defend more options.

wlayton, that is probably the only concession that I will make to WM. Like you said, opponents starting on their on 40 does truly change the plays a team can run. Did you see the interviews with WM that were posted? Interesting. Hope you have a good weekend Pal.
