Looks as if Carlton Thomas is picking up where he left off in high school. This young man is tough and seems to have the attention of players and coaches alike. The paragraph below is about Friday's practice. I am still on the bandwagon for this young man, truly believe he will delight all of us wearing the Red and Black. Speed is one thing, deception sometimes is the key to YPC. So glad that CT chose UGA.

Reminds me a lot of Warrick Dunn who played for Atlanta, Tampa Bay and FSU.

Another highlight included a spectacular 70-yard run for a touchdown by Carlton Thomas, who looked like NFL Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders. He juked all kinds of defenders out of their jock straps.

It was a pretty thing to see.

Buc, I am starting to believe this kid might be a star! Thomas took the ball today, stiff armed Houston to get around the corner, then made a spin move that left Marcus Washington on his hands and knees looking for his jock strap, then went 30 yards to the house. This kid is breaking a big one every day. People are comparing his moves to Barry Sanders. That might be a stretch, but he must be good to be getting those comparisons. Look out CK and RS, at 5-7, this kid could hide behind the big boys, find a seam, then use his 4.4 speed for a TOUCHDOWN GEORGIA!:woohoo:

Nice piece about CT in Sunday edition of AJC. In high school CT was doubly good catching the ball. Great hands to go along with his \"shiftiness\". Watson, won't say that he will start, but with Smith coming on board to return punts and kicks, think that is a possibility. CT is not afraid to take it between the tackles, this young man could become a shining star in Athens. He is showing why Urban and some others wanted him so badly.

\"He (Thomas) has got a motor like nobody I've ever seen,\" Georgia quarterback Joe Cox said. \"He's full-speed, no matter what he does. He's tough, too. You see him get knocked down, but he's up on his feet just as fast. We're really looking forward to seeing what he can do.\"

Hey, Buc, that quote reminds me of what they used to say about a Georgia TB that just left for the pros. Good to hear! Him doing so well will only make the other TB's better! GATA Dawgs!
