Cox was 31-0

Correct. Joe Cox was a part of the best years (in my opinion) of the Independence dynasty. Those years started with Chris Leak and continued through the Joe Cox-MoMass era. And since the only game Joe Cox started for Georgia was a 14-9 victory over Ole Miss in 2006, that is correct. He has never lost a game in which he's started. Maybe he can continue that this year! GO DAWGS!!!

You're right average,
and you know what, that clutch 4th quarter comeback by Joe Cox kept us from a 5-loss 2006 season and is one of the most underrated UGA comebacks of all-time. Nobody talks about this game I guess because we were supposed to win. Still, the pups were a young bunch back at the start of 06.

I remember, Stafford and the rest of the players trying to imitate an offense were stinking up the field that day something bad. Think we ran for like 50 yards or something. Stafford might have completed 7 passes for 60 yds. Frustrating day at Sanford for me and the other 90k, BUT I remember seeing Cox finally get his chance to strap on the chin strap and run out on the field trailing 13-0 with only a few minutes left in the 3rd quarter. JC broke the huddle, clapped his hands and the offense IMMEDIATELY started moving the ball.

I remember his first pass was on 3rd and long and he made a real nice throw over the middle. I think that first drive ended on downs deep in CO territory. Then, Cox proceeded to march us down the field on his next drive and throw a 20+ yard TD to Southerland. Another drive ended on downs in CO territory and finally, w/just over 2 minutes left, JC led the Dawgs down the field and found Milner in the endzone on another 20+ yard pitch and catch to SAVE OUR SKIN that day. JC went 4-4 on that game winning drive and 10-13 for 150+ yds. on the day.

Now I don't know what he did or what he said when he got in the huddle but I'm pretty sure that the young Dawgs ENTIRE offense listened and responded when Joe Cox took over that Fall day in Athens. Ever since that great comeback I have been very anxious to see JC back in the middle of the Dawgs huddle. I'm just saying, maybe Joe Cox will indeed lead us from evil, AGAIN :woohoo:

I remember that game, too, goosedawg. And if JC could command that kind of leadership as a freshman, I can't wait to see what he can do as a Sr.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
