Rookie Salary Cap

average and wlayton, I am also in the same camp. Started yesterday to say almost identically what you said wlayton. With Green and some of the others that will line up on the offensive side of the ball, having a QB that has been to the SEC wars is very important. Murray is very good . . . . but he will be a freshman playing against solid seniors and experienced footballers soon enough. Personally don't know that much about Mettenberger, but suspect he is as good as advertised. If the freshmen QB's get to study and practice with the likes of Stafford, it only enhances UGA's future in the SEC and nationally. One last comment, cross our fingers that Orson Charles signs with UGA, could definitely start real soon. Looking forward to watching our \"D\" against MSU.

not to get anything started here but one player comes to mind.

TEE MARTIN.

it is a huge plus to have an experienced QB on the field. but does he need to be game ready? Joe Cox has the experience but doesn't have the game time to prove it. We have shown in the past if you don't have a solid running game then it doesn't matter who is behind center is all i am saying. i hope while on christmas break their families talked to them about this and they both stay. Possible NC if they both stay who knows what happens if just one of them stay. i feel like we are about 5 days away from knowing. let's get ready for MSU. plus eating something green on New Years is good luck so why not just eat a green spartan.

Just believe in the college game, QB may be THE most important position on the field.

QB is the most important position on the field at all levels. In any game from pee week to the NFL the team with the better QB is likely to win.

golferdawg, I can understand your reasoning but there are always going to be some isolated exceptions to any rule of thumb (Tee Martin). Just thought bringing up the possiblity of ONE staying would create some interesting thoughts and opinions.....and everybody has one for sure.

Put my reasoning this way.....if you were going to start a brand new team and were going to chose the FIRST player to start your team, which one would you chose?........ Usually the QB.

Also remember the great defense that Tennessee team had.
Stafford will do great things if he stays.
Defenses win championships. Regardless of who coaches the D, (and let's assume it's Martinez) we need some different defensive schemes.
