I can't pull for Oklahoma anymore

The Sooners lost one of their star running backs. If Florida doesn't win, it will bring dishonor upon our conference for at least another decade. They will have lost to an incomplete team with the worst defense of any team to ever make it to the title game. They will have lost to a team that's lost 4 consecutive BCS bowl games and got schooled by Boise State. The Sooners winning the national championship this year would be equivalent to if Hawaii had won it last year, and it will be at the hands of the SEC.

In any other situation I'd be rooting against the Gators. This would be exceptionally, exceptionally bad for our league though. We'd never here the end of it, because people will be calling 2008 Oklahoma the best team ever and comparing them to 95 Nebraska if they win, simply because of the string of 60+ point games.

Seriously, these Sooners are the biggest paper champions I've ever seen in college football. Inflated stats and no D and they're already being heralded as the best ever. It sickens me.

As much as it disgusts me to defend them, comparing them to Hawii is just plain stupid. They do, after all, have seven MNC's and are fifth in all time winning percentage (behind Ohio State and ahead of Alabama). They are truly one of the college football elite.

I'm sorry ChemDawg but I'm with wlayton and besides, WHO CARES ABOUT THE SEC'S HONOR WHEN IT'S THE STINKIN' LIZARDS REPRESENTING OUR CONFERENCE???
Really, does the SEC REALLY need to prove anything in college football--I certainly don't think so?

As a matter of fact, I couldn't be any happier to start the new year than if Bama, UF, UT, (oh, I forgot, no bowling for the Big Orange--LOL) LSU (well, to heck with Yech, I've heard enough buzzing in my ear from their fans to last another 7 year winning streak so scratch LSU from my list), ALL LOSE.

That said, I hope OU hangs 60 on the Gators so, BOOOMER SOONER!!!

I'm talking about this year, not their all-time program. This year's Oklahoma vs Florida is like last year's Hawaii vs Georgia, becuase what both teams have in common is that their stats look good on paper as a result of playing in a conference not known for its great defenses. They never would have scored 60 points in 2, much less in 6 straight games if they were in this conference.
