Ya know wlayton, your response seems logical and is definitely to the point. After posting my question, I then read the Athens-online and AJC articles linked on the Dawgs.com homepage concerning the defense. None of our players mentioned being worn out but I do think they made an astute observation concerning the lack of \"passion\" or lack of \"fun\" they seem to be having out there on the football field. You could just tell that they were having fun out there last year, this year, not so much. Interesting too was the fact that Kelin Johnson was the proclaimed vocal leader of the defense last year and nobody has filled that void this year. Perhaps Curran will step up and fill that void following the players only meeting?
Anyways, I just hope to see a recharged, fired-up, yet disciplined bunch of Dawgs defenders flying to the ball when they take the field down on the Plains this Saturday. I dunno, maybe I'm reaching for a answer to uplift my outlook on this season right now, regardless, I still say it's no easy task to stay fully energized and healthy when you play 4 road games against LSU, Florida, UK, and Auburn in consecutive weeks. Also, perhaps the fact that the Cats won the Time of Possession battle by nearly 10 minutes had something to do w/our defense sucking wind throughout the 4th quarter. IMO, while T.o.P. is not an \"end all\" statistic the importance of keeping the opposing offense on the sidelines and keeping your own defense rested is often overlooked and understated. Thanks for the reply though wlayton. It's good to know I'm not the only person fretting over UGA football at 11PM on a Wed. night-LOL!
