UGA's Defense

is going to play hard Saturday and hold AU to less than 14 pts. I just got that feeling. Can't explain it, just think we will come out and whup up on them plains boys.

I think (hoping) that our defense will have the best game of the season this Sat! For the ones of us who were on here last year, after the UT and Kantucky games; we had the same topic discussion- FIRE WILLIE! And we all know that starting with the UF game last year our defense was a brick wall. I don't know if it has something to do with Willie reading some of our post and realizing that us fans are not happy with his schemes or if it is just taking our defense 7+ games a season to start gelling. But to me (and it may just be me) but it seems as if our D plays better after we vent about their performance. I know that we have some injuries and lack the talent we had last year (nothing personal to any of the players if they are reading this) but I feel a change is coming! And if it happens this week, I am proposing that next year the week before the season starts we bring this topic up (sorry Willie). But I guess we will all have to wait until Sat to see if my prediction is accurate or not. Only time will tell.

If we have a good day on defense, doesn't say much. Auburn hasn't exactly lit up the scoreboard. If we have a great day on defense, it will give me encouragement for the rest of the season.
It's all about defensive schemes and adjusting. I will give it to Saban, a master of it.

I hate to be negative but, with 4 games left in the season and after 2 blowout losses it seems a little late for a gut check. After watching the AU offense this season a dominant performance against them isn't anything to write home about.

I agree with fire_dawg. Maybe next season we should be calling for WM's head about a week before the season starts.

It is not possible for UGA's defense to have a big game against Auburn. This is because Auburn's offense is so bad, that shutting them down really doesn't prove anything. Even if we shut them out and win, say, 28-0, it really doesn't say anything about our D, other than it's decent enough to shut out a team that won a game 3-2.

On the other hand, it is entirely possible for our D to prove that they're not any good against Auburn. If the Tigers score more than 14 on us, it will be more ammunition for the fire WM crowd.
