Hey, I never said Tech was a bad team. They're good this year. I was saying all year (till they lost to Virginia, that is) that they were SEVERELY underrated by the press, which was well-documented by the fact that in the last week before the BCS came out, they were ranked 16th by Sagarin but unranked in the human polls.
And who gives a damn where they're ranked in the BCS standings? If they're not in the top 6, then the BCS standings don't mean squat. They either win the ACC and get the Orange Bowl, or they don't win the ACC and are out of the BCS picture. I hate when people use rankings to try and compare teams, because it's utter crap. Alabama proved that in their first game this year.
The press should have absolutely NO say in who wins the title. Any title. All they care about is being on the winning side of things. To hell with all of them.
I can't believe I actually spoke well of Tech in this post! I've got to go wash my mouth out with Borax or something...
