Mark Richt Too Soft? was created by dawgboy000
First let me say that i respect that he's a christian man and also helps kids with special needs that's great and i think more people should do that. But to be honest with you I think that he's scared of his players i mean like i never see him chew anybody out ex. in the florida game when miller made the int and the d linemen is called for a foul richt should have been all over his ass, i mean i know if that was nick saban or jim leavitt the that player would have been hiding on the other end of the sideline

what i'm trying to say is that if your players don't have some kind fear of you they gonna make alotta mistakes

I don't know that he's to soft, I've seen CMR get angry before. I just thinks its his style to teach rather than yall. For instance, look at the USF - Pittsburgh game last week. There was yelling going on, coaches at players... players at coaches.. things being slung around and where did it get them? My buddy is going to USF right now and he was plain embarassed by it and he's just a student. I think its like dapolla or someone said earlier in another post.. CMR just needs to find a way to give them the \"IT\" factor. The swagger that a confident team has that shows they aren't intimidated by anyone, and I really think they need that on their home turf. If our home turf record were as good as the away record then a lot of this wouldn't even be talked about.

I agree and we can accomplish that by running up the score whenever possible to give the receivers and the backs and the QB more confidence. On defence we need to keep the pressure on no matter what the score is.
But, instead we sit on a 10 pt lead and run the clock out with 4 or 5 minutes left or start playing soft D with a 21 pt lead even though there is a qtr and a half left to play.
Playing until the clock says zero and trying to DESTROY our opponents is what we don't do. That would build \"swagger and \"the it factor\". We are to soft with no killer instinct and that is the coaches fault.

So you would have CMR act like the coaches we despise as respectable football fans. You know, your Sabans and Pete Carall. That's just rediculous. You do not need to humiliate the other team to get a swagger. If you do, your not doing it right. I do agree that to get it, it needs to come from the coaches. I have many ideas as do many others here on coaching. Acting like the scum of coaching though would be a the worst way to get it.

What ever happened to sportsmanship? I swear, this system has everything forgotten! The \"swagger\" does not come from running the score up, the \"swagger\" comes from hard hitting fast D and a down right brutal power running game with passes when you have too! CMR is building that program, but with all the injury's this year on the O line and in the middle of the D its hard to have that factor! Fact of the matter is that in both these game our team was WAY overmatched! So we lost to the #1 and #5 teams in the country.........I can think of worse things to have happen! Fact of the matter is that we have Kentucky coming up this weekend...Auburn after that then the geeks! We still have to finish the drill! Win out finish still in the top 10 win a good bowl and hope next year we can keep people healthy! But to ask about CMR's coaching style is just absurd! Get over yourself! The man is the best thing to happen to this program in many many years!

The Florida game was a disaster, The coaches would be the first to admit that and put the blame on themselves.
We still have good coaches. Sometimes you try a little too hard. I never saw us quit. We will come back.
