Must we do this every season????

Must we do this every season???? was created by NC_Dawg
OK folks, time to step back and take a well deserved breath. I've been a regular of this board since the days of Clinton, budget surpluses and Coach Donnan. Every year, regardless of our overall record, some game results in a flurry of threads calling to this and that. Fire him, hire them, discipline is absent, thugs running amuck...PLEASE...!!!

Does anyone here remember when Goff and Donnan walked the side lines? Do you remember our seasonal records? Do you recall some of the REAL issues with discipline? What about Jan Kemp, a name that still is only whispered? Does anyone really want to argue that our current program remotely rivals that of the past? Yet year in and year out we always seem to find ourselves in this internet posting quandry. I guess it can be cathardic for some to \"vent\", as long as there doesn't exist a belief that what is said here will actually come to fruition.

However, I will say that we do the program, coaches, players and ourselves, the fans, a disservice when we advocate for substantial change following a painful loss. No one likes to lose, especially when all the stars were aligned to propel the program forward. But like my lil' 11 year old says, \"Do-Do occurs\"! This is college football, in the most prolific and powerful conference in the nation. Alabama had a great plan and executed it fully. We had our opportunities to change to course of the game, but only found success after the \"W\" ship was setting sail. We got whipped! Fine, \"do-do occurs\" get over it and move on! With the noted exception to the rather impressive number of new members, I don't recall anyone expecting this team to run the table. In fact, a few actually spoke specifically on the concern that Bama would be one we may potentially lose. HELLO !?!?!

IFO will NOT call for, nor advocate the removal of one aspect of coaching personnel when there were equally glaring examples of failure on the opposing side. Fact is we stunk it up and embarrassed ourselves before a nationwide audience. We may never see another \"Black Out\". But I'd be willing to bet that there won't be a single change in coaching personnel no matter how angst ridden we call for it. We need to act like we've been here before, because we have!

So to Dawg Nation I say, CHILL....this trip has only just gotten underway. We have a long a difficult season ahead and the team, the players and COACHES need our support. Would anyone rather be a Gator or Vol right now?

For all the new members, welcome, I hope your participation here lasts. We all know that each season brings forth a large number a individuals quick to jump aboard. However, if you're not into this for the long haul, this is your first opportunity to depart the bandwagon...BUH-BUYYYY !!!

GO DAWGS !!!!!!!!!! GATA !!!!!!!!!!!!

AWESOME NC Dawg--Thanks & AMEN!
Also, AMEN to Coach Mark Richt!

Bottom line: the coaches and players are NOT proud of their performance on Sat. night and they already KNOW that us Bulldog fans are not happy so there really is NO POINT in going on and on about it. Regardless, our TEAM is NOT going to give up on this season with ALL of their preseason goals still within their control and I for one don't plan on rooting, following, and cheering for our boys any less than I was prior to Sat. night. Actually, for the Tennessee game I plan on attending the Dawg Walk, getting inside of Sanford earlier, and making even more noise than I did last week...well, until my voice fails me like it did in Jax. last year

Yall know, it's tough times like these that truly measure the RESOLVE of a team and a fan base and we HAVE already been here many times before. Need more proof besides past seasons in Athens? Just take a look at what's going on up in Knoxville; RIGHT NOW, that is one DIVIDED fan base. Half of em' want Fulmer fired immediately and the other half are mad at the rest of em' for not being loyal to the Tenn. program. I expect you will see at least 15,000 empty seats in Neyland Stadium this Sat. for the N. Illinois game. Sad times for them!

How bout’ down in Gainesville? All of a sudden, everybody in Gator Nation is questioning Urban Meyer’s play calling ability and wondering what happened to that “new and improved” defense? They’re wondering, what’s wrong with their Golden Boy? He can’t pass, he can’t run, heck, he can’t even hang onto the ball. Lastly, I KNOW I heard BOOING in the Swamp a few times on Sat. afternoon.

So yeah, we got dominated on Sat. night and yeah it is very discouraging, BUT you must give Alabama their due. I sucked it up & watched the game again on DVR last night…OUCH, it was much worse on TV than in person; the Tide was out to make a statement and they ROLLED in and played a darn near flawless ball game. Kudos to them!

Remember though, what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger and I don't think anybody in Bulldog Nation died on Sat. night. So C'MON Dawg fans, remember what Buc & wlayton said, \"CMR obviously knows what he's doing and NOW is the time to BE PATIENT”. Otherwise, heed the advice in the last line of Mr. NC_Dawg’s post!

Let’s not go the way of the Vols and Gators. Let’s give our ENTIRE staff and ALL of our players what they deserve, 100% of our support! Let’s keep wearing our Red & Black proudly and let’s start hating everything wearing Orange!

Besides, what better way to unleash 2 weeks worth of caged frustration than by taking a Hobnail Boot to them mangy hounds from Rocky Top!
