The silver lining...

At least it's an early loss to a top 10 team that is very likely to run the table in the regular season and represent the SEC West as the number 1 team in the nation going into the SEC championship game.

In other words, it is a team that we have proven ourselves capable of playing with, as demonstrated by the second half, and it is a team we very well may be able to earn a rematch against.

At least we got the choke out of our system early. Richt teams play their best football in the second half.

If we treat this as a learning experince and play our cards right, our season is very much still alive.

An undefeated Bama and a 1 loss Georgia will meet in Atlanta with a trip to Miami on the line, and I can't wait!

I am trying to see the siler linin but we have problems. Our defense is soft against anybody with a pulse on offense. 31pts in the first half is unacceptable. Also this game is much worse than the score indicates. It wouldn't be so bad if we lost close but we got handled. Hopefully we can run the table the rest of the season and get a rematch but losing like this just doesn't make me feel very optimistic.

Our D made JPW look like Joe Montana. We are undisciplined the penalties were horrendous. The hold by Jones when they only brought 3 guys is just the tip of the iceberg. I don't know maybe I am just being hard on the team and am a little disappointed. I am just disgusted right now.

Go Dawgs!!!!

I read and understand what you are saying. I how ever do not think there is a silver lining. There is no silver lining when you come out and play with NO FIRE. None, nadda, not even a spark. I will tell you though. It's pretty imbarassing when not even your water boy on the side line can get fired up. Pathetic. They all and I mean all. From the head coach on down should be ashamed of themselves. Not for getting beat, but for rolling over in the first quarter and then attempting a half hearted comeback at the end. Sickening.

Good job to Bama. They came out and wanted it. We should take lessons. Pathetic.

Oh, we have problems alright. However, at least those problems were exposed and can be addressed with a bye weekend coming up and a lobotomized Tennessee the weekend after that.

Trust me, if we were going to give one up, this is about the best way it could have happened. Early in the season against a highly ranked team we are likely to get another shot at.

Like the thread I started, there is only one answer, fire willie, he always has a game where the defense falls asleep that is unacceptable at a big time college program. He has to go and now.
