Bummer for Owens. Hope he gets well soon. We seem to be losing guys to injury every week.

He has a great attitude and will work hard at rehab. Coach Richt thinks he'll be back next year.

The good news is we have 5 other very good DT's. Just don't need to lose anymore. Most teams would DROOL to have 3-4 real good DT's.

Tough loss and your correct here. As long as he hasn't played in 4 full games this year(I think that number is correct)and he obviously hasn't, he can get a waiver to come back next year as a 5th year senior and I hope the young man deceides to do so.
Our Jasper Brinkley was in a very similar situation last season, tearing his ACL in game 3 against LSU and was granted the waiver to forego the draft and return this year, so Owens definetly can do the same. I wish him luck.
I thought that too, dawgboy, but on Coach Richt's show he said he has a year of eligibility and he won't need any waivers or anything. Maybe because GS is Division 1-AA? georgiadogs.com also says he has a year and will be back in '09.
