The hits just keep on coming

HUGE loss for the Dawgs! I feel terrible for Sturdivant and the rest of our YOUNG OL who has YET to find their leader.

Well, like kentdaddy said, SOMEBODY has got to step up & fill some big shoes.

Any thoughts on what are starting OL might look like now?

If there is one small consolation, it's that we've got a great OL coach in Stacy Searels. I mean, look what he did last year.
Sturdivant's shoes are big shoes to fill at that all important blindside position.

Wow. He tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL… Let’s just hope that he can come back next year. I hope there’s no nerve damage or this could be a career ender…

This is an absolutely huge blow. Sturdivant is our best offensive lineman, and probably the biggest leader on the offensive line as well. The problem is there is nobody behind him. Josh Davis is terrible, and he is not the answer. Vince Vance and Clint Boling have little to no experience at tackle, and Cordy Glenn is a true freshman that was expected to either redshirt or play guard. I have no idea what they’re going to do, but this is really bad. I’m not exaggerating when I say that, outside of Stafford, Sturdivant was the player that UGA could least afford to lose. Losing Knowshon would be terrible, but at least there are good players behind him. I don’t know who is going to protect Stafford’s blind side now, and I’m very fearful that people are going to be all over him now….

A lot of talk going around that he will be gone 16 – 20 months because it’s going to be a complete knee reconstruction…

Well wlayton,

Your post echos my exact thoughts...TS was the one guy we didn't want to see hurt!!!

Didn't AJ Harmon play OT and DT last year in HS. I know that he wants to play on D but Coach Garner has already told him to lose weight or else be stuck on the OL. Maybe this is a sign from above that BIG AJ is supposed to keep the weight on and play OT.
I dunno, so Josh Davis is listed as the only other OT besides Tripp & Freshman Cordy Glenn who like wlayton said, played Guard not Tackle in HS. How about big Justin Anderson? He looks like he has the frame to play OT? What about Tanner Strickland?

Damn it, if we don't sign like 2 or 3 offensive TACKLES (not GUARDS) in this years recruiting class I am gonna go postal! We have been thin at OT for the past 7 years it seems!
