Unbelievable

I actually think this most recent event will help us. The whole nation knows that coach Richt identified the offending player. Everyone knows he is a man of integrity.

The difference between us and a FSU previously is Bowden would have tugged on his glasses and said \"Dadgum if I can see well enough to identify that fella. I reckon he looks a bit like Emmitt Smith\".

Kids do wrong, but how we handle it will set the tone.

You're absolutely right, kentdaddy. I thought the same thing about Coach Richt. The fact that he identified Darius when the police couldn't speaks volumes about his character and integrity.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Group punishment is a great way to both destroy morale and get people to leave

I hope that if Richt is making them do more physical work (sprints, bear crawls, whatever) he's not saying that it's specifically punishment. There's an attitude amongst some of the good people that if you're in trouble regardless then there's no point in being good.

I remember having teachers like this in middle school. I was well behaved. Once she started punishing the whole class I'd see no point in being good as I was inevitably going to get in trouble anyway.

Why obey the speed limit if you got ticketed regardless?

I gotta disagree with ya'll on group punishment.

You have a good point. Group punishment has to be used carefully. It is good to help a team police itself, but should not be abused.

Maybe I'm missing something but if a kid screws up....put his butt ON THE BENCH. If he continues to screw up....kick his butt OFF THE TEAM!!.....simplicity always works for me.
