If you don't want to read the article, Darius Dewberry is suspended for the first two games for breaking a control arm at a parking deck and turning over trash cans at the hospital checking on Baldwin the other night. The police couldn't identify him from the cameras, but Coach Richt did.
I don't think our schedule is going to be our biggest challenge this year--it's going to be having enough players to field a team.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

I remember a few months ago, we were down on all the other schools such as Tenn for all the player problems they were having, now look at us. We are the laughing stock of college football right now. We are rated no one, which most people do not think we deserve and now we have all this going on. I am affraid that this could be the year that UGA is talked about like Notre Dame and Michigan. We all know how people made fun of their losing streak and Michigan getting beat by a division 2 school. I love uga and have supported uga for over 40 years, but I am affaid we are all going to be shocked when this season is over.

Things have not progressed over the past couple of months as I thought they would, and with all the hype of being no one and with all the arrest I am just not sure what to think. I have read a lot of blogs and they are really coming down on CMR saying he is not strick and that he is bring FSU policy to UGA.

I like everyone else was so excited and could not wait to show all the naysayers that we are truly a great team. I am now not so sure that things will work out as we all hoped.

I sure do not want to hear those words form the other side or blogs as OVER RATED.

:( :( :( Sadlerdawg: I am sorry to say that this whole off season nightmare smacks of a total lack of discipline and a total lack of respect for authority by certain members of this football team. It reminds me of the FSU program of several years back. (free shoes u) If you are going to discipline the wrong doers, then do it. Two DUI's, your gone, off the team. You destroy property, turning over planters and breaking the security gates at a hospital, off the team for a year. Mr. C King for mouthing back at a police officer, saying your trying to get football players in trouble, a two game suspension. The poor guy that was acquitted of the DUI, and ticketed for reckless driving should not be suspended at all. Just my thoughts on this whole problem. If you are going to discipline, then make it strong enough to get their attention. What away to start a season. We might be lucky to be two and two after the first four games. Right now I don't even want to read the sport page in the \"fish wraper\" AJC. I don't like being so negative, but this kind of stuff has got to stop and it's CMR responsibility to correct this mess. This is what it's like to be a father to 105 teenagers. Go getem Mark!!!! As always, GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!

I read an interesting perspective in the Banner-Herald, someone screws up, punish the whole team, like the military. Coaches can only do so much, nothing like a little peer pressure to straighten things out. I am embarrased. Now is the time for the team leaders to step up to the plate. As always, GO DAWGS!!!!!!

Averagedawg, I would not be surprised if Coach Richt is quietly doing this right now. DawgDoc and duck, remember that these young men ARE being punished. Two have been suspended indefinitely (meaning they are not suspended from playing in a number of games, but rather suspended from the team), while another has been outright dismissed. One of those young men was indefinitely suspended BECAUSE it was his second drinking infraction. Unlike Tennessee, South Carolina and others, we follow through on our discipline. Meanwhile, it looks like Stephen Garcia could be STARTING for the Cocks by year's end.

This is also not the first time we've had players arrested before the season, nor is it the first time we've had this many arrested and/or suspended. It's not the first time under Richt, either. Young people will be young, and some are young in stupid ways. So far, I'm proud of the way CMR has been handling it. I don't like all of these suspensions and arrests, but (sad to say) it's nothing out of the ordinary for ANY SEC program, save Vanderbilt. The reason it's getting so much pub is BECAUSE we are number one. That's not going to change until we're not number one anymore, which should be some time in 2011. Think about it this way: there are 79 players on our team who were NOT suspended. That sure beats F$U having 32 suspended, doesn't it?

Keep your chins up, Dawg lovers. The reason we have to dwell on this right now is because the Eagles haven't arrived between the hedges yet. GO DAWGS!!!
