Fit and Ready

According to reports, Matthew Stafford is just that. Matt is a big guy, big boned as we like to say. With his body in top shape, this really could be an amazing year for not only Matt, but for the UGA team. With Knowshon and King in the same backfield on occasion, maybe a lot, the possibilities for this Georgia offense are limitless. As we witnessed last season, Stafford is not a statue with the ball in his hands, he can run and I am not sure that being a small corner or backer that I would want to take him on head on. Understand that we don't want the young man hurt, but I believe that his chances of getting hurt are higher if he does not take off with the ball on occasion. Just really believe that this offense is going to go to another level this year. They have some time under their belts now, and we all know that is the key to team play. I get involved in conversations here in Florida about their running QB, and that is a fact, not fiction, he runs and runs well. Might be a pretty good third down back in the pros. Personally, I would not be surprised to see Matt score a couple of times on the Gators, they have much more to watch and cover than they did last year, and we have much more to offer this year than last. Someone needs to come up on this forum and give us a rundown on our receiving corps. Just jabbering, time for some football, UGA STYLE . . . . Go Dawgs!

Here's some info Buc...

Flanker
Mo Massaquoi- Starter. Very good hands, but not blazing fast. A very good college receiver, but might not make it at the next level.
Mike Moore- Very good potential. Had an excellent spring. Should be major contributor this year. NFL is possible if he realizes his potential.
Tony Wilson- Tough. Excellent blocker. Good speed. Has been prone to drops, but excellent potential.
Israel Troupe- Muscular athlete. Highly regarded coming out of high school, but redshirted last year.

Split End
Kenneth Harris- Big (6-3, 215), Senior leader. Hard worker. The star of matt drills. Expecting big things out of him this year. Average speed.
Kris Durham- Another big receiver (6-5, 210), Excellent hands, but not blazing fast. Expect a big year from him.
Walter Hill- Former basketball player can jump sky high. However doesn’t have great speed. Redshirted last year and still learning the position.
Tavarres King- True freshman turned heads during the spring. Needs to add weight but can absolutely fly.

True Freshmen
A.J. Green- Many compare him to Randy Moss, but he’s all potential at this time. He’s got to learn what to do, but he has impressed in summer workouts.
Carlton Thomas- He’s a RB, but expect to see them put him in the slot, too. Think a more muscular and tougher Tyson Browning.

Tight Ends:
Tripp Chandler- Doesn’t compare to TE’s of year’s past, but very solid. Senior leader.
Bruce Figgins- Played a lot as a true freshman. Awesome blocker. Good potential as a receiver. Very big. Looks like Ben Watson, but not as fast.
Aron White- Redshirted last year. An undersized TE with fantastic hands. Struggles in blocking. Too small to be an every down TE, but a great option as a receiver.
Bryce Ross- True freshman. Signed as an athlete, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up at DE. I don’t expect him to be an elite TE if he even plays there. Could be used as more of a blocker. Probable redshirt this year. Father was captain of 1980 national championship team as a LB.

That’s about the best I can do.

Thanks wlayton. I am interested in Walter Hill, heard a lot about him and his efforts in the spring. Thought I would post this site, two guys that show a lot of that team spirit. Also, found it interesting that Carlton Thomas is being mentioned as lining up in the slot. He has wheels and hips. Think you know what I think of this young man.

Thanks wlayton. I'm with ya'll, I'm ready for those silver britches. I agree about Stafford. From what I've heard, he's in excellent shape. He is such a pure passer, when he runs, it's just that more effective.
I am just healing and waiting.
GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
