Makes Me Sick . . .

He obviously had a lapse in judgement. I think he's basically a good kid. We all know he WILL pay the price.
I agree about the media. I sometimes read the AJC, only for sports. I prefer the Banner Herald and talking to my friends at Dawgs.com.
I don't think this incident will do anything but makes us a better team. These kids know the ramifications of screwing up.
I'm so proud of Coach Richt and ESPECIALLY PROUD of our Armed Forces on this Memorial Day weekend and every day.

Ok, im 26 yrs old so i have learned this recently. In the state of Ga, if a driver refuses to take a breath-o-meter(lol) then they are taken to jail under a dui charge. and if i'm not mistaken then they do a blood test. if negative i guess there is no charge. I have been offended late at night being asked for a breatholozer, and the sad part is one night i called in a wreck that was a dui and it looked like the guy flipped, so i went back and waited for the 5.0. the cop kept me there for 2hrs b/c he stated he could not tell which one of us had been drinking, i got a little smart with him. my brother was locked up in a car i just bought b/c he thought it was stolen, you have every right to disagree if you are right. and the 5.0 has to have substantial evidence to think you are drinking, i have never been asked to blow, but i would be pissed if i had not been drinking, which i rarely do!!!!!!!!! that is a rant, some cops are good, some are bad, my grandfather was a athens pd back in the day!!!!

OK, there it is. He may or may not have been DUI, but was charged with it for refusing the breathalyzer. IF he was DUI after the blood test....unless he refused it, too.....why is there no mention of him or his parents posting bond and his getting released after the obligatory 6-8 hour stay in the drunk-tank?

UD37, you raise a good point on the posting of bond. Maybe if you sent a note to Carter Strickland and asked him about this case, some issues with his article could be cleared up. I don't see a fight on this board about which side we are on. If Carter was willing to write the article, then he should also be willing to do a follow up on the status of the persons involved. His answer (or lack of) would probably answer a lot of questions some of us have.

Like a previous poster said, if he wasn't drinking, then WHY wouldn't he take the test? I know I would have, to end the situation.

Just believe we are trying to read and speculate on a situation that seems pretty straight forward to me.....college kid, couple of beers, got caught.....close the case and move on.

Oh, has anybody mentioned that he's under age as well?

On the mark as usual wlayton. Did want to take this opportunity to thank the many folks that have served and are serving in the military. averagedawg mentioned it earlier, can tell that he is red, white and blue. I spent time in the Navy, pretty sure that sadlerdawg was and is a Marine. Would be interesting to me to know how many on this board have served. Not as a judgment thing, just interested.
