I hope Stafford stays for his senior season. I think it will bode well for him in the NFL.
This is great news. We sure got it going on.
GO DAWGS!

P.S. I think Murray stays with us.

WAY TO GO AARON MURRAY!!!
Too bad, sooooo sad Gators    You do gotta love it don't you wlayton!!!

I'm working out in Dallas, TX & just got back to my hotel room to find out about Aaron's decision. I think I just disturbed my unknown neighbors here on the 2nd floor at the Marriott w/my loud barking!!! This news seriously just made my day!

Like the rest of you, I really hope Stafford sticks around for his Senior year (and I think it's very possible) but I also feel that a big factor in his decision will be whether or not he hoists a huge Crystal Ball Trophy over his head on 1/8/09. If he does, he might say, I want to come back & defend the title, or he might say, my work here in Athens is done, it's time to get move on to the green pastures (pun intended) of the NFL. On the other hand, if he does NOT hoist the BCS Trophy, he might be extremely motivated to return for another shot at winning it all. Ultimately, I don't think Stafford's decision is very predictable until after the 08' season has run it's course.

Anyways, yall check out this brief & exciting article on not just Aaron Murray but on our other QB commit Zach Mettenberger.

Stafford, Cox, Gray, Mettenberger, Murray...as our recently MIA comrade DawgSpeare has said before, the Future is Bright in Athens, GA! Actually, life has never been better in Dawg Nation fellas!!!

I think I will go out for dinner now & warn all of these Texas Longhorns that they'd better watch out for our Dawgs in the coming years!!!

My quick 2 cents. First, Murray WILL beat out everybody including Gray and Cox. Secondly, I just don't believe Stafford will make the same mistake Brohm did last year. Brohm would have been the #1 pick in the draft but stayed his senior year....big mistake, he may not even go in the first round this Sat....big bucks lost...BIG. Stafford is being projected as the #1 pick in next year's draft, at least the #1 QB picked......many say he might have even been the #1 QB picked THIS year because all the scouts love his arm, size and all say he has HUGE upside. Hope he stays for his senior year but I have my monetary doubts. If he leaves, believe me, Murray will be just fine....do yourselves a favor and watch some film on this kid....he's GREAT. He's the best QB recruit at UGA other than Zeier and Stafford, ever!!

You're probably correct wlayton. With literally millions of dollars sitting on the table, it would be hard for anybody to pass up the opportunity. Maybe I'm just being a hopeless homer w/my delusional visions of Stafford staying for another season. Still, like you, I'm super pumped about Murray's decision! You can't help but feel extra good about his decision knowing that UGA beat out those swamp infested lizards for his services. I too have no doubts based on his press conference that his comittment is solid. The Gators can try all they want, this kid truly wants to be a Georgia Bulldog!

On another note as far as 2009 recruiting goes, I just spent some time this evening on the big-time recruiting web-sites and the Dawgs are sitting pretty w/something like 20 of the top 100 players in the nation listing UGA as a school in the running. The names I most covet & think that UGA has a great shot at landing are the #2 WR in the nation, Marlon Brown out of Memphis, TN, the #2 Safety Devonte Holloman out of Charlotte, NC, the #4 Safety Donovan Tate out of Cartersville, GA, the #1 OG Nick Alajajian out of Naples, FL, the #2 strong-side LB Jarvis Jones out of Carver-Columbus, GA, the #3 strong-side LB Tana Patrick out of Stevenson, AL, the #6 WR Andre Debose out of Sanford, FL, the #7 OT Austin Long out of Memphis, TN, the #7 CB Brandon McGee out of Plantation, FL, the #8 CB Branden Smith out of Atlanta, GA and the #12 DE Demonte McAllister out of Tampa, FL. Given all of those talents w/strong possiblities of coming to Athens, UGA still has a shot at beating out other listed favorites for the services of the #1 Safety, #2 DT, and #2 MLB in the country,

Plus, we already got Abry Jones ranked as the #4 DE in the nation, Murray the #8 QB, Mettenberger the #13 QB, Ealey the #11 RB, Burnette the #7 OG, Moody the #7 WLB, Plus the commitments from DT/OL Dallas Lee, MLB Chase Vasser (who is way underrated IMO) & WLB Shawn Williams. How can you not be fired up Dawg fans!? Coach Richt, Bobo, Garner, Martinez, Searles, Ball, Eason, Fabris, Jancek, Lilly & the rest of the Red & Black wearing Dawg leaders are spoiling us I tell you.
