I must say I am surprised, no, shocked, that another UT player was arrested over the weekend. It is shocking because I figured after Lardo made the entire team run at 6 am to \"show the team he wasn't going to tolerate such behavior\" after the 3 arrests in a week, there would be no way a player would dare to defy his disciplinary authority. In the article, pay special attention to his discipline. Give 'em Hell, Lardo!!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee guard Anthony Parker faces disciplinary action following his weekend arrest on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Coach Phillip Fulmer said in a statement Wednesday that Parker will be subjected to morning runs, curfew, community service, police ride-alongs and other punishments.

\"I have watched Anthony Parker mature and grow as a young man, student and leader on our team over the years, and I am proud of his growth,\" Fulmer said. \"However in this incident, I do not believe he respected the officer as he should have and unintentionally created a situation that could have been avoided.\"

Parker was charged with disorderly conduct Saturday morning after an off-duty Knoxville police officer responded to a crowd in an apartment parking lot.

Knoxville Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk said everyone at the scene was asked to leave and Parker was arrested after he did not comply. He was released on $500 bond.

The police investigated the arrest after complaints were made to the department, but the investigation found the officer acted appropriately.

Parker, a junior and second-team All-American who started at left guard for all 13 games last season, is one of four Tennessee players involved in incidents with police this offseason.

Between January and July of 2005, eight Tennessee players were arrested or cited for crimes ranging from assault to underage drinking. Fulmer said players' problems with the law were an embarrassment to the program.

What a shock, another Vol in the can, and Tn. fans wonder why their recruiting sucks. If you were a parent, would you want your kid playing for the pumpkin? It pains me to think this sleaze has beaten us 3 out of the last 4 years.

sadlerdawg, this is the classic case of the inmates running the prison. The following paragraph from your thread really tells the whole story.

Between January and July of 2005, eight Tennessee players were arrested or cited for crimes ranging from assault to underage drinking. Fulmer said players' problems with the law were an embarrassment to the program.

Embarrassment to the program? What about embarrassment to the school. Where is the headmaster while all of this \"punishment\" is being doled out?

Long and short of the situation is this . . . PhatPhil knows that if he comes down too hard, recruiting efforts and player participation is going to fall off, big time. Fulmer has been on the bubble not just recently, for a while, some would call this job protection.

Exactly right, Buc. Lardo's \"punishments\" are absurd and boderline insane. I can't believe an AD, dean, or president would stand for this crap.

sadlerdawg, the thing that really troubles me is this . . . . PhatPhil has all the money he will ever need in the bank. These young football players (know that all sports are included)are the ones that are going to pay the price. They are not being helped when it matters most, after they leave the program. I had said earlier that I wanted to post an article that really crawled up my you know what. I am going to post the link, may get me in trouble, but I feel very strongly on these issues. Last point, yesterday I was suspended from a Pro Football site for linking to this article. I called the powers that supposedly are the franchise to rid themselves of the cancer that should have been dealt with many, many years ago. Hope you allow this link Steve.
