Is the entire SEC jealous of Tim Tebow - or what?

If anything else, I just want Kelin Johnson, Jarvis Jackson, Quentin Moses, or Charles Johnson to knock Tim Tebow back to 5th grade in the cocktail party, er, game in jacksonville. Nobody has delivered a punishing hit on this kid yet and it's driving me crazy.

I will agree that Florida fans have no reason to boo, as until the Auburn game they didn't have any frustrations. But Dawg fans can be just as guilty. Jacketexterminator24, don't you wish that Thomas Davis or Greg Blue could get just ONE shot next week at Mr. All American Tebow. After he woke up he would think twice about trying to run over SEC defenses. I think Tebow is/and will be a great player (and a great kid) but he had better wise up or he won't make it through a whole season in this league.

I don't remember the fans booing Joe T coming in but I do remember booing him when he threw that awful pass. You are right. But I guess the point I am trying to make is that these fans have been with Leak for five years, and now they are turning their backs on this kid. It's stupid. Tebow is exciting, but Leak has been your man for a long time and hasn't done a bad job (he has certainly owned the dawgs). He didn't do anything wrong before he came in, I guess that is what gets me.

you are right - Gainesville was fawning over Leak four years ago. Now Tebow is the rock star. I think UF fans are conflicted because Leak obviously doesn't fit Meyers offense because he can't run and seeks a hole in the ground if a LB stares at him. To Meyer's credit, he has worked with the old and the new and made them both successful. (what would spurrier have done?)

235 lbs at full speed hitting the line from 7 yards deep!! If Bama, LSU, and Auburn LBs+Linemen couldn't knock Tebow over man up, I don't Davis or Blue can - unless they get a blindside opportunity.

St Augustine Highschool beat him all four years he was at Nease. They had fast athletes that could hit and tackle. Tebow won a state championship last year but still got worked by St. Augustine.

People here love Tebow because he is a local kid and he is white. A lot of residual racism still exists in NE Florida. Tons of black on black violence this year has brought it to the surface more. Heck, these Jaguar fans still long for Mark Brunell. Tim Tebow is the redo of Brunell. He is a mobile white guy who is outwardly humble and religious. That plays really well here.

For the record I am a regular white guy. Some people will not admit some reasons people love Tebow unless they know you or no one is listening.

secsec, I know Tebow is a very tough kid but there hasn't been anyone in the last 5 years that hits like Thomas Davis. 230,235,240, doesn't matter, he is lethal. Evidently you haven't seen some of the hits he's put on some backs. I though he actually killed one RB in Athens a couple of years ago. Believe me, Tebow wouldn't want any of TD. Really doesn't matter but Urban needs to rethink how much he runs Tebow with the LB's in this league if he wants him to complete a whole season, that's the point.
