Who will represent the west in '08?

This is an excellent question. I do not know enough about the West's big 3 teams to predict. Here's the little that I do know.

Bama: Should be pretty strong especially toward the latter part of the season. They are ranked no. 3 in recruiting for next year just a whisker of 8 pts begind UGA. If I remember correctly QB Parker will be gone and that will hurt them. They should be very competitive but may be a yr away.

Auburn: Someone in this thread said they are returning most everyone next year. Looks to me like losing QB Cox could be both bad and good for them. He was not consistently impressive, so it could be good for them to get a new field general. But being new, equates to inexperience, and that's not healthy (esp at QB). Their defense has been impressive; that alone may be enough powder to blow off their western foes (my uninformed pick).

LSU: Losing too much quality to graduation. Hard to fathom them repeating.

I would not be surprised if the winner of the west simply forfeited after seeing the Squad we have going to Atlanta.

I am worried about their sense of self worth.
