BCS BS

RxCowboy, there is no bad football \"karma\" here. No crying, just emotions gone wild. What's the harm in that? Personally, I feel like if you're NOT the least bit peeved about the systems mockery of this championship, then the passion for our beloved team is waning a bit. And don't take it as me calling you out. I don't know your feelings on the situation except that you \"don't think we are deserving of one of the top two bowl games\", but don't put me or anyone else down for voicing our opinions on the matter.

You are incorrect RxDawgboy ONLY from this point of view IMO. The BCS had ALREADY taken into consideration the facts that we lost to USC and UT but STILL ranked us #4 last week. Now if they had NO intentions of moving us up if #'s 1 and 2 lost this past Sat. then DON'T RANK US #4 !!. They could have ranked us #5 or #6 last week and the Dawg Nation would be COMPLETELY happy today. We would not have watched those 2 games Sat night with such GREAT anticipation as we did. Then to move to #5, that incredible.

NO, the BCS screwed up by ranking us #4 last week and had NO intention of moving us up. Since THEY put us #4 what in the Hell are we suppose to think?.......I'll tell you....we had a right to think that we would be playing OSU for the NC if WVU and Mizzou lost Sat. The BCS shouldn't get in the teasing game, very unprofessional.

I have said all along that we blew it in the Carolina game. All I'm saying is that there's a Big Ten bias and definitely an elitist media. Listen to ESPN and tell me there's not. As far as karma, in football the best karma is unmitigated anger, which we have in abundance. GO DAWGS!

You'll get no argument from me that the BCS is a pathetic mess. I'm an old wrestler, and the wrestler's mentality is that the final man/team that hasn't been eliminated is the champion. I don't like votes, polls, computers etc. to determine who is the best. Settle it on the field. But there's the rub...

Think about this... change the scenario a little. If we had won the SEC Conference Championship game, but a team that didn't make it to the conference championship game ended up in the BCS championship game ahead of us, how screwed would we feel then? Both teams have two losses. One of the Bulldogs' losses was a blow-out at Tennessee, who LSU just beat. LSU's only losses were in triple OT. If we were in LSU's shoes and another team jumped over us without winning the conference championship, I'd be right there with you, screaming loudly. We really needed Kentucky to do us a favor, and they fell short.

The Dawgs have had a great year. 10-2 and in the Sugar Bowl is outstanding. There are plenty of teams who would love to be there. What's more, the Dawgs are going to be loaded next year. Making the BCS championship game was a long-shot for us at best. Maybe I'm an eternal sunshine pumper, but I think there is simply too much to be excited about to waste a minute worrying about not being in the BCS championship game.

There are exactly two teams that haven't been beaten in regulation this year, LSU and Hawaii. We have a chance to eliminate one of those from that list. Go Dawgs! Sic em!

Anger is good in football. Indignation, however, usually gets you beat.

Great post miss UGA! VERY WELL put wlayton...it's the BCS rankings from last weekend that were a sham, much more so than this weeks final rankings. Do Dawg fans have a right to be UPSET, ANGRY, POd, at this BS system, you bet your a%# they do. Do Dawg fans have a convincing argument for UGA to play for the NC this year, I'll say we have an argument (such as: we are playing the best ball RIGHT NOW, we've won 6 straight games, we've crushed 2 top 25 opponents, we would have easily (I'm confident) beat LSU on Dec. 1), but still, when you don't win your conference (even when it's the BEST conference in the land) you just do not have a very convincing argument.

I truly HOPE & BELIEVE that most DAWG fans here agree, we SHOULD HAVE beat USC and we SHOULD HAVE showed up against UT, but WE DIDN'T, and we have only ourselves to blame. Learn the lesson & don't make the same mistake next year.

Just curious though, do we have any NEW believers (among you traditionalists) in some form of a college football playoff system after the events of the past 2 weekends?
