dapolla, wlayton, right on! We really don't want Miles leaving LSU & giving the hated but brilliant SOS the opportunity to coach all of that talent in Baton Rouge. Here's why I think Miles coached a team of underachievers this year (even though with some very good fortune this bunch of underachievers will probably hoist the mythical NC--how's that for crazy):
LSU Starters on Offense:
Seniors 5 (QB, RB, WR, OG, OT)
Juniors 2 (OG, C)
LSU Starters on Defense:
Seniors 6 (DT, WLB, SLB, CB, CB, SS)
Juniors 5 (DT, DE, DE, MLB, FS)
LSU Special Teams:
Seniors 3 (PR/KR, P, LS)
Juniors 1 (K)
What other SEC team was even close to starting this many upperclassmen this season? I don't have time to look it all up but I'm sure it was not the Dawgs, or the Gators, or the Tide, or the Vols, or the Tigers/Plainsmen. Let's just say this, 3 of these LSU Seniors are on Mel Kiper Jr's. Top 25 draft board for the 2008 NFL draft & I would expect at least 2 - 4 more LSU players to get drafted on day 1. Way too much talent for a team with 2 conference losses in a relatively YOUNG SEC this season. Yes, I say, PLEASE LORD, keep ol' Les Miles at LSU. I so badly want to see the look on his face when he shakes CMR's hand after the beatdown the Dawgs are gonna put on dem Tigers down in Baton Rouge on Oct. 25, 2008!
