Yes
GatorinGA, it does sound that way, and I'm sure it is. Thanks for replying with a serious consideration of my post. It helps to have one's thinking confirmed by another, especially one so thoughtful, articulate and honest as you.
UF continues to scare me. The Gator offense is what is frightening to me.
Two things: 1)The scheme; 2)The talent. I think we are seeing in Missouri the similar results of what UF did last year and what UF
MAY do next year. UF's hiccups this year appeared to me to be due mostly to their weakened defense. But in spite of that, they have had a very good season and will likely win their bowl game. UF is, to me,
one of the hottest and best teams in the nation right now.
As I have said to you before,
the next two years will be incredibly competitive between UGA and UF. Both of us should be excellent and near the top of the rankings heap. It will be interesting to see how our competition plays out.
It appears that
both programs will be roughly equal in talent. UF running the spread with all that talent and the Dawgs running a more conventional I formation as its basic formation. We know basically how UGA will run its offense; it will try to maintain balance (run vs pass). We don't know, but we suspect that UF will probably employ a better running game next year with better running backs. Doing so will no doubt help Tebow (and thus the team) in several ways. It will reduce T's risk of injury, and it will make the Lizzard offense that much more unpredictable, balanced and indefensible.
Terrible thought! My prediction is:
It's gonna be fun!
