DawgSpear, you asked me a question last week about where I got the stats for Stafford and I never did answer you.
See the link below.

Take care.

EDIT:    The fourum is artificially adding underscores so the link is not working. Simply take out the 4 underscores and it should take you there.

 admin did not know underscores are being put in but all old timers are now informed of the problem. However some URLs use underscores. I will look into it. steve

Many tanx GatorinGA! Appreciate that...
I am surprised you did not vote TT for Heisman. No argument, but I was surprised, eventhough I recognize the automatic criticism that usually accompanies choices which appear to be prima facia self-serving.

As with all balloters, I accept your vote as completely sincere.

I have always considered myself to be objective in my opinion. I don't always side with my team (or players); I call it like I see it. That being said, I believe with unbiased opinion that Tebow is in the top three as far as \"most outstanding player\" in the country. Bar none!! However, based upon what I think is in the voters hearts, it should play out as I (and others) have indicated.

Tim Tebow is no doubt the heisman winner of this year in my opinion. 20 rushing/passing touchdowns each in one season. automatic heisman right there:)

Like you, GatorinGA, I like to think of myself as having the ability to be objective. I suppose like most things it is a matter of degree. We all can be objective when we try, to one degree or another. I previously wrote that it was difficult for me to cast my valuable first vote for Mr. Tebow simply because he is a Gator. In some ways that is ridiculous, but it is visceral reality. You may have already concluded yourself from vague hints made on this very forum that some Bulldawg fans don't like UF or anything associated with it. The same is true of me, and I know why, I think.

You stated it fairly accurately some time ago. I think it is primarily due to jealousy. To me it's similar to the feelings Boston Red Sox fans have against the Yankees and San Francisco Giants fans have against the Dodgers. The Yanks and Dodgers are the \"big boys.\" They're the big time, the big city, the big money, the big celebrities, etc. They have the most championships, the most recent success, etc. Consequently, we (Giants fans and Red Sox fans) covet what they got. It doesn't work the opposite way. Although the enmity and friction is strong from Yankee and Dodger fans, it is not as bitter; it is not as inwardly destructive. These are generalized statements of course. One can always find exceptions on the extreme fringes.

Similarly, UF is the big time down here, and now especially w/ their recent run of success under UM. And now, and now, add to that the crushing horror of this new, wildly successful QB, nicknamed superman. I, for one, have to be careful when I talk about UF or Tebow. I have to consciously, deliberately try to be objective when I am trying to be serious. Fortunately, most of the time I don't have to be serious about it. But when I sit down to watch a GA game or a Florida game (doesn't matter who UF is playing), I am very serious and very emotional about the outcome. I suspect it's not healthy. UGA's win this year over UF really helped ease so many tensions. Life has been getting so much better ever since then.

Ahhh DawgSpeare you are one of my favorite members here!:)
I appreciate your honesty and humble attitude.

I too have my own strong dislikes for other teams. Florida State, Auburn and UGA.
I agree with all of your post!
My dislike for FSU has vanished a bit. Why? Could it be their recent fall from grace and the Gators winning 4 in a row? Absolutely. And I found myself disliking UGA even more after this year's UF vs. UGA game. I jumped on the banwagon of condeming the celebration in the enzone, etc. Why? Jelousy? The loss stung a bit? Probably had a lot to do with it.
Truth is, we all know why UGA fans hate Tebow. We all know why UF fans condemend the Dawg's \"celebration\". Most of us fail to admit it or find another justification for our feelings but in truth, it pure and simply bitter envy.
Any negative opinion regarding Tebow would be the same as a UF fan stating that Knowson Mareno is way overrated. He's just having decent numbers due to steller blocking. And if he keeps getting 30 carries a game, then he will never last 4 years.
Sounds silly doesn't it?
