Where do you stand on the GREAT ISSUE: Playoffs?

DawgSpeare, in response to your age question, I am 28. I favor a +1 system, but love the bowls and do not want a playoff. My father is 53 and wants a playoff. My brother is 24 and wants a playoff. Go figure.

Like I said, though, I do create a tournament bracket every year based on a logical, fourteen-team field that makes both conference championships and BCS rankings important.

But a playoff would not harm the bowl system in any way shape or form.

We would have to maybe give up a regular season game. I know we all love the long tradition we have with Troy or Arkansas State, but come on!

I love the bowls. I hate polls. I hate ambiguity. I hate having some old fart tell me who is the best team when the teams themselves can decide. Football would be like the basketball tourney but magnified. It would be a huge money maker for everyone involved and it would be great for the fans.

It is time to put this issue to rest. Kirk Herbstreit, CMR, dapolla and myself all agree on no playoff system. There you are. That should end this argument definitively, conclusively and once and for all!

How can you side with him?

He is part of the problem. The Big (slow) Ten is the biggest obstacle because they know if a playoff existed they would be relegated to Conference USA status because all their kids grow up like Wayne on Waynes world in a basement aping Eddie Van Halen or playing video games because the weather outside is frightful (cue holiday music).
