You, sir, truly know what you are talking about. Please don't misunderstand when I keep harping on the "QB Thingy" . . . it's just my nature to focus on where I think we are weak and what "we" are doing to fix it. You make a good point about NCs and QBs who weren't "world beaters". Buck Belue certainly comes to mind!!

I just hope I get proved WRONG by the time we finish playing Alabama and Tennessee! I've said it before - if we are still undefeated by the end of the Tennessee game, I'll come back right here and loudly proclaim how very wrong I've been.

thriller the statement you made below brought back some memories. There was a lot of conversation on this board some years back that focused on Buck. Feel sure you remember.

Buck Belue certainly comes to mind!!

Lots of conversation now about putting the ball in the air and winning. Buck was a "manager". HW was a running back that proved the need for a ground game as has been the case when being one of the best college football teams. VD ran the ball, "a lot", but the National Championship was won primarily on the back of a "running back". Buck did get one pass off while scrambling to Scott that Munson described beautifully.

Many running backs in Athens. With you, need to get this quarterback thing settled.

What has this board have against Buck Blue?? He was an excellent leader & QB. He could throw the ball a county mile if needed & yes he had a great running back, HW. Dooley wanted to run the ball, that was what the head coach wanted. Just what do you all look for in a QB? In
my estimation he was as good or better than AM. Just my opinion. Guess on this board that's not worth much. Also we need to get off VD's back, he made a lot of mistakes yes, but after the one that followed Wally Butts, he was a God send. I dislike all the negative stuff about past players & coaches.
