Sounds great but will never happen......man, would GT like to have that combo!!

Don't need to install anything radically to create confusion etc, just feed it to the studs and watch them run.

More than likely many of you guys have watched this video, if not . . . . .

I really have great respect for Ellis Johnson, coach knows defense. He is not blowing smoke in the video. Interesting watching his facial expressions. Not a lot of coach speak in this video, Ellis is damn sure shooting straight.

This is more or less where I am at with the upcoming Auburn game.

Looking over some of the awards given to different players, seems we (UGA) stand tall again.

Three freshmen playing in their first year in Athens were recognized for the following. Lifted this from Seth Emerson's column.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Three freshmen honored by SEC.
Georgia was all over the SEC's weekly awards, and every player honored was a true freshman.
Isaiah McKenzie was named the special teams player of the week after returning a kickoff and a punt return for a touchdown at Kentucky.
Nick Chubb was named the co-freshman of the week after rushing for 170 yards - on just 13 carries - and a touchdown.
Lorenzo Carter was named the defensive lineman of the week (even though officially he's a linebacker) after recording 2.5 sacks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Realizing that Kentucky is not "yet" the caliber of team that Auburn is, but they have some very good players, and they did not give up. Guess with our "talent" we were supposed to win the Kentucky game.

Point I want to make is this . . . . Back to the "talent thingy" again in Athens. When I look at what every team that we have played has talent wise, don't see many that compare to us when looking at overall "talent". Know that I have said that for years, but it is the truth. Richt said in his press conference yesterday that he admired Todd Gurley for telling the truth, went on to say that the NFL will like his honesty, regardless of the "miscue" he made. I am doing the same thing, telling the truth as did Gurley.

If talent alone is the determining factor between the Hedges on Saturday night, we should be in great shape. If we are beaten on Saturday night, then it takes me back to the often used "stuff". Too much talent in Athens to be outside of the top ten in college football with our "talent".

Can only imagine what might be said "if" we do not come out victorious. Looking at both teams, believe this is one of those games that "coaching on the sideline" will determine the outcome, more so than a punt failure or whatever. This is a game that separates coaches and their coaching abilities.

Don't want Auburn to win against us in Athens, between the Hedges, home crowd, great athletes, national exposure on television. Yep, this game will have super TV ratings, especially since the Alabama/Mississippi State game was chosen by CBS to play at 3:30 in the afternoon.

No Excuses.

There has been some conversation on this board about Lorenzo Carter and Leonard Floyd being named co-starters for the Auburn game. Anyone that thinks that Jeremy Pruitt does not have his hands all over this . . . . you are not paying attention.

This goes back a couple of weeks when we were discussing "sealing the edge", now it comes out in the bold type below that "we" again were "spot on". Anyone remembering what was said before the JAX game, one of the main pieces of conversation here was about Leonard Floyd "protecting the edge" . . . . Floyd did not do that . . . . after a "sack" every play. Coaches played it down, but will say again, and have said it since the gator game, Pruitt is not playing favorites.

Pruitt/Rocker and Company need to find out some things "this year". Appears to me that Floyd is thinking seriously about leaving after this season. Good for Floyd, do what you have to do. I saw what Lorenzo Carter can and "will do".

Who knows, maybe this will be a wakeup call for Leonard Floyd, NFL also looks closely at "attitude" among other things.

Beginning to see some of that "Alabama attitude" finding its way into Athens. I buy into it. Many things can happen this weekend, one thing that won't happen is the way our defensive program has been run since BVG left town. What is that term? There is a new "sheriff" in town, like him or not, there are some "attitude changes" that are damn sure visible.

Plucked this from GTP . . . .

Again, no great insight here watching the replay. But there are two points worthy of emphasis.

First, we’ve had the wrong “who should start” position debate. The big question after Saturday shouldn’t have been at tailback – and Richt’s put that to bed, anyway – but over who should start at the OLB slot opposite Jordan Jenkins. Lorenzo Carter had a superb game, not just in rushing the passer, either. In a little over half a season, he’s shown that he is better than Floyd in holding the edge defending the run. I hope that’s plenty of motivation for Floyd to step up his game; if Carter can keep it up, Floyd risks being turned into a pure pass rushing specialist.

Stay on course Pruitt/Rocker and Company, can't be any worse that what we have watched basically since Erk left. Use this photo on occasion, it makes a difference to know that a defensive coach gives a damn. I said that.

So Richt reinstated Gurley as the starter....

I guess he's lucky he wasn't suspended because of pot or he would probably be listed as 4th string!

God Bless and Go Dawgs
