Georgia 31, Auburn 27

Moreno: 95 yards rushing, 1TD

Stafford: 270 yards passing, 3TD, 1 Int, 2 sacs

Auburn will control the ground game and keep Knowshon in check, but today Georgia will show that they can win in the air as well as on the ground. Take us out of one element of our game and we'll burn you with the other one. The only way you can stop us is to be among the nation's elite in both passing and rushing defense. Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno are the best quarterback/running back combo since Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush. Mark it down.

Moreno is next year's Heisman Trophy winner, the first underclassman to accomplish the feat in what is at least some semblance of justice for the Hershel snubbing his freshman year.

Matthew Stafford wins the Heisman in 2009. I did not used to think that Stafford would play out his eligibility at UGA, but now I do. He hasn't progressed as quickly as expected and he has not been consistent enough yet. He'll need to put together two seasons of greatness to prove it isn't a fluke before NFL teams will begin to consider him the number 1 pick he was projected to be coming out of high school. He will not be passing the ball as much as he usually would next year, because Knowshon's rise will make our game much more ground oriented than it was originally projected to be. Stafford won't be able to put up the monster, Colt Brennan-like numbers needed as long as Knowshon is there taking up many of the plays. He'll need all 4 years at Georgia to secure his place as a top pick in the NFL draft. I expect Knowshon to go pro after next season, so Stafford's senior year will be his time to shine and put the team on his back and take the Heisman and be the first overall pick in the NFL draft.
